Hi Liz, thank you for your feedback. Our Bed Pads are designed to be slept directly upon and are positioned on top of your bottom sheet. The polyester face will quickly absorb any liquid, while our waterproof backing will prevent any liquid from penetrating through to your bottom sheet and mattress. I have also sent an email with some further information for you.
