“I have a 17" calfs and was scared these socks would have the give I needed to take, needless to say it was a perfect fit without any inprinting into the skin. I dont know how they do it, but it was thin, breatherable, and tough as I have ever had. I got a strand stuck under a nail and went back without a rip, tear, or bump left behind. The only piece of advice is DO NOT mix with regular cloting, not becuase they cant go in the wash but the colors are so deep they will bleed color everywhere even at my 3rd hand wash. I will copy this review for the other pair I bought, all the same built quality.”

Separate socks by style and color, as washing dark or colored socks and a load of whites may spoil them by bleeding the stains. Add mild detergent to the washer and ensure to wash your socks in cold water on a gentle cycle setting. This will prevent your socks from fading and snagging. “I am very pleased with this pair of socks. As there are plenty of reviews of products on this website mentioning their high-quality, I will try to note some more specific things that may be helpful to potential buyers. One small, but nice thing about these socks is how the toe stitching fits over your toes. On other dress socks I have from more "mainstream" companies, I have found that the toe stitching does not align over my toes very well, which creates unnecessary pulling and tightness over my toes, and also causes increased friction between my toes and the socks, which leads to the creation of holes in a relatively short period of time. By how these socks fit over my toes, I can tell that that is not going to happen, at least not for a very long time. I would also like to share that my policy regarding drying Fort Belvedere socks is to only put them in the dryer on tumble dry low after I wash them for the first time. The reason why I do this is because in my experience, when the socks are dried in a dryer--even if only once--they stay permanently soft and smooth to the touch. Whereas if you do never put them into a dryer after washing them, then the socks feel slightly rough or coarse. It is not at all a problem, but I do prefer their feeling after drying them once. After doing that, I just air dry them. Also, if you dry them once, and then air dry them from henceforth, the socks will also be less wrinkled after air drying than they are if you air dry them without ever having dried them in a dryer. Lastly, I will note that my feet are a size 8 US, and I ordered these socks in a size medium. I have found that after drying a pair in the dryer, they are a wee bit too short for my liking. (I prefer my socks to rise up to just below my knees). So, in the future, I think that I will order a size large, and then dry them in a dryer once, and from henceforth, air dry them. That should be right for me. Thank you, Fort Belvedere, for this excellent pair of socks.”

“I could tell these were primo socks immediately after seeing them - their luster and hand were a testament to quality that is hard to find anymore. I paired them with tan shoes and grey, tan, and brown plaid trousers - absolutely spot on!”

“No more need to adjust or pull up socks. These stay put all day. They are super comfortable and well made. I don't feel any binding at the toes or them being too snug at the top. Definitely a wardrobe necessity.”
