I had been consider a Gentleman's Gazette tie for a while and final bought one. The feel of this tie is impressive. The quality is immediately evident. It feels almost delicate but is quite solid at the same time. I had two compliments the first time I wore it. If you've been considering a tie, try it. You won't be disappointed.

I especially have trouble finding ties that I like. So many of the ties available today are overly complicated texture and pattern mixtures that I don't find at all attractive... however the patterns, colors and materials of the ties offered by Fort Belvedere are good looking and obviously high quality. The problem I have run into is that the first item I ordered didn't arrive in good condition and the return process has been slow, disorganized and is still unresolved over 2 weeks later. Because I have high hopes and like the offerings I believe I will try Fort Belvedere products again, but my first experience has not been very satisfying.

I am sorry to hear that the return process has been slow. Unfortunately, we had people abuse the returns system, where they ended up keeping the return and the new replacement we sent. Hence we have to wait until we get the goods back to the warehouse. That being said, we will look into the process and see where we can improve to make it better for customers like you. Thanks for your continuous trust, I appreciate it and also thank you for your frank feedback.

It is so rare in a world where quality and attention to detail have faded to find a shop that focuses on delivery of top products along with exceptional customer care. Plus, there is so much information on the site. I especially liked the video on types of shoes.

The Fort Belvedere wool challis tie in navy with (white) polka dots is a solid tie. Solid in the make, as it is, by definition of dots, a patterned tie. I place the description of ‘white’ in parentheses because the dots are actually a natural white colour, akin to undyed wool. This is by no means a negative; in fact, I think the natural wool colour accentuates the casual elegance of the tie. It could be helpful to know in advance for those considering purchase of the tie, especially if expecting true a white. However, I shouldn’t think that would be a good reason for passing on this tie. As I already mentioned, I think it works with the style of the tie better than bright white would. This is my second navy tie with white dots, my first acquisition being the pin dot variety. As I am predominantly a casual suit and odd jacket wearer, I find my more formal pin dotted tie in silk only gets occasional use. Once the weather here starts to cool down (we’re just coming into high summer in Australia), my new navy dotted tie will get plenty of use, as it should coordinate well with most of my suits, excepting those reserved for spring and summer wear. I also expect that it should pair acceptably with my more subdued and even slightly louder tweeds. I think the spacing of the dots is perfect to complement a variety of patterned jackets, and of course, solid jackets are a no-brainer. I’m yet to wear the tie and it will be months before the weather is cool enough to permit a wool tie. The mercury hit 43 Celsisus (that’s 110 Fahrenheit in American) on the weekend and wearing a wool tie would look out of place, bordering on the ridiculous, as well as being extremely uncomfortable in these conditions! So, until we’re well past summer, I’ll have to content myself with dreaming about luxuriating in my new woollen neckwear, knowing that when the occasion comes, I’m going to be looking incredibly put together with this tie. I look forward to adding the tie to my rotation and maybe even some compliments from the rare folk around these parts who have a more developed sense of personal style.
