“Firstly, thank you for stocking a 3.5 inch width. While I bought this tie knowing that it was longer than your narrower options, I am curious as to why this is the case. I would think personal preference would be driving the width of tie one chooses to purchase more so than ones height. I am 6 ft tall and tie my ties in a double for-in-hand. Still this tie is too long. I would suggest keeping your 3.5 inch wide ties at the same length as your narrower offerings. Also, I found this tie to lack the heft I was expecting for a wool challis. I do prefer a beefier knot than the average gent to correspond with my taller collars, but I found this tie to be flimsier than other wool Challis I have purchased from the likes of Finickey and Paul Stuart. I have yet to decide between returning the tie or taking it to Tiecrafters to be re-lined and shortened. Having the tie modified will run the cost up well beyond the $125 price tag, but I need a wool challis navy dot so I might just suck it up and have it altered to my liking.”

Wool Challis is per se a thicker fabric and so we chose a thinner interlining in order to prevent a huge knot. Of course, if you like a bigger knot, please take a look at our tie knot videos. The Albert or Half Windsor are probably best for you.
