“I own several bow ties, but this is my first in shantung silk. As I've come to expect with Fort Belvedere, the quality is excellent. The colors are true to the online photos and the size is a classic 1930's style. Thus, five stars. Alas, it was with the slightest tinge of disappointment that I read "Handmade in Vietnam" on the tag. Nothing against Vietnam, but I had hoped that somehow FB would be immune to using (presumably much cheaper) Asian labor for manufacturing. I remember hearing the pride in Raphael's voice when he described his knit ties and how they are made on an antique knitting machine in Germany. Knowing this I feel a little extra sense of adoration every time I don my FB knit tie, perhaps my favorite tie in my collection. Likewise with my FB pocket squares (made in England). Does this mean the quality of this bow tie is any lesser? Absolutely not, at least as far as I can tell. So I am just being a bit too picky or nostalgic regarding an aspect that doesn't really matter? Maybe. Regardless, I still enjoy the tie and will continue to wear it with confidence. Cheers.”

“I wear bowties often and saw this item on GG. I thought the different silk would be a great piece. Albeit $90.00 but give it a shot. Upon opening, item came in Ft. Belvedere box. However, when I went to wear the bowtie, I noticed I had to extend the tie all the way out to the very last latch to just get it to fit. I wear an 18" shirt and usually tie mine tight. I barely had enough room to complete the tie. I'll live with it, but looks like Sheldon's tie. I will not buy this item again but sad because the tie looks good, just not for burly men.”
