“I'm proud to have been able to fit out my new tux with this single-end silk grosgrain bowtie. The material is quite nice, and while I'm still not yet particular enough to value a single-end bowtie for its uniqueness, it's nice to have a one-size-fits-all option when shopping online. This is crazy expensive for a curvy little strip of fabric sewn in Vietnam. The craftsmanship is fine and normal - nothing to complain about, but also not near the high-end artisanal Japanese or Italian menswear that I tend to associate with this price point. But if you have a tux made with fine grosgrain labels and braids and want to build the outfit correctly, Fort Belvedere is the only game in town I can discern. Even Turnbull and Asser doesn't stock grosgrain bowties or cummerbunds. I took the liberty of measuring the pitch of the grosgrain ribs. It is a 1mm or 0.039" pitch and is identical material, as hoped, as the "Fine Faille Grosgrain Cummerbund in Black Silk Repp" from here.”

“A ridiculous price for a strip of black silk. I see nothing in fabric or construction that could justify charging twice as much as other makes. One would think that the price would be lower, not higher, than others due to the use of lower-cost Vietnamese labour in the making; I guess I paid extra for that fancy box.”

“I am very happy with my new grosgrain bow tie and cumberbund. I never liked the shiny look of cheap black tie accessories. Wearing a black tie with it looked like junior prom pictures. Ft. Belevedere's grosgrain is subtle and elegant. I get compliments for my black tie yet others don't know why. It just makes a difference. I feel great in my black tie and enjoy wearing much more now.”

“after looking around on the site i found this wonderful tie, still working out how to tie it, and really make it pop, not a little lopsided. But it fits perfectly, and is a quality product built for years of usage, and with my White Dinner Jacket, just makes the whole ensemble pop.”
