"A Terrifying Genre Masterpiece." – Dave Alexander, Rue Morgue
The college town of Bedford is receiving an unwelcome guest this Christmas. As the residents of sorority house Pi Kappa Sigma prepare for the festive season, a stranger begins to stalk the house.
A series of obscene phone calls start to plague the residents of the sorority and it becomes clear that a psychopath is homing in on the sisters with dubious intentions. And though the police try to trace the calls, they discover that nothing is as it seems during this Black Christmas. "Stuffed with extremely tense moments, chilling cinematography, amazing characters and long-lasting dread… [this] genuine classic is completely deserving of every bit of respect and admiration it's picked up over the last 40 years" (addictedtohorormovie.com).

The movie looks great on BluRay, and the special features were fun to watch, too. I'm very glad I purchased this.

Black Christmas is a wonderful and creepy classic of 70's horror. Four years before master of horror John Carpenter would grace the silver screen with a terrifying new villian in Halloween, vetran director Bob Clark, who would later direct another christmas classic "A Christimas Story", directed this 1974 horror film about an escaped maniac terrorizing sorority girls on a dark and snowy night. The film feature great performaces by Superman's Margot Kidder and Psycho 4's Olivia Hussey, and even featuring the very excellent John Saxon. Black Christmas is a horror-Christmas classic this reveiwer will be watching with a cup of coco and a blood stained candy-cane every year to come! As far as technical aspects, Scream Factory delivers us a deliciously devilish present wrapped with all new bonus features and interviews. Along with the many great features comes a new tranfer and a great audio. Thanks for this great X-mas gift to put under the tree Scream Factory!

So I purchased this film on a whim and man did it blow me away! I won’t go into the plot as it’s a movie you want to see without reading too much into it but it does have some great scenes you won’t soon forget. Scream Factory did a phenomenal job on the 2k transfer. They also packed this film with plenty of amazing extras along with a reversible cover of the original artwork. If you love horror, as I’m sure you do, pick this one up. You won’t regret it! The 2k transfer alone is amazing.

I watched the remake when it came out and I thought it was decent it didn’t really scare me or anything and I finally got to watch the original and it has a bigger creep factor to it. The way the movie was made was perfect I like how they weren’t always in the house and you never saw the killers full body. Must watch movie top 10!
