Welcome to the 'hood of horrors!
It's a place where your worst fears can come to life. A place where it's hard to tell nightmares from reality. A place where you will discover Tales From The Hood.
Stack, Ball and Bulldog arrive at a local funeral parlor to retrieve a lost drug stash held by the mortician Mr. Simms (Clarence Williams III). But Mr. Simms has plans for the boys. He leads them on a tour of his establishment, introducing them to his corpses. Even the dead have tales to tell and Mr. Simms is willing to tell them all. And you better listen – because when you're in the 'hood, even everyday life can lead to extraordinary terror.

This package boasts a great transfer, the image looks crisp, clean and very colourful throughout. As for the film itself, it's something. Very 90s. Definitely reflective of the those times.

Cool anthology movie with four stories told by an eerie host to a group of young criminals that takes place at a funeral home. Everything is awesome - plots, special fx, characters, place settings, everything. Worth to own on bluray.

Whenever someone says something stupid like, "horror movies from there 90s suck." Or something like, "that no one had any idea what they were doing with horror in the 90s." That's when you pop this movie in, to show them that the 90s has plenty of gems! TALES FROM THE HOOD is one of those gems that shines the most. Easily one of the best anthology horror films ever and in some people's opinion, the very best. Clarence Williams III provides one of the best performances in his immaculate career, along with superb performances from so many great actors. The stories are so fun and still hold up to today's standards, if not better. Shout Factory went above and beyond with this release! Packed with so many special features. It was so much fun to learn of the history in making this film. The new transfer is out of this world phenomenal! So get rid of all those old dvd copies and stop searching for those expensive out of print releases. Treat yourself to something nice, something real nice. Get the bluray from Scream Factory / Shout Factory

Oh my where to begin and how to not give away any spoilers? If you like the old-school anthology type horror reminiscent of Hammer or Amicus you can't help but love this movie! Some punks get the nerve to go into a mortuary/funeral home one night to get some drugs. Along the way the proprietor they are threating walks them past a few corpses and tells them stories about what events led to their deaths. Creative wrap-around story and totally absorbing tales - never boring - and a satisfying conclusion make this 'as good as it gets' when it comes to vignette-based horror!

I love this movie. I think it's one of the great horror anthologies and being set in Southern California "hoods" in the 90s is one of the best ideas that didn't get used enough, or well enough. An awesome horror flick that tells 4 stories with a 5th connecting them all. It's a must for any fan of 90s horror or anthologies!
