“I remember watching this movie back in '95 and finding something very cool about the pace and cinematography that was a lot better than I was expecting. As well, Steve Johnson was on my radar for his experimental and extremely lively practical fx that have aged beautifully. The same can't be said for the CGI, but I appreciate seeing the art form being pushed and trying to develop. The collector's edition is great, with some tremendous carry-overs from the previous release, and especially for the new doc from the production team. Of course, my favourite moments are Johnson walking us through how he made several of the coolest fx sequences work, and never holding back on what went wrong behind the scenes. Very cool release of a somewhat underrated B-genre film.”
