I wore this bracelet to work the other day and people thought it was a real nail. I got lots of compliments on it. The bracelet opens and closes by pressing the down on the part that touches the head of the nail (where the lines are). I like how the closure is hidden and blends beautifully with the design. It took me a minute to figure it out but now that I know, its easy. Overall I love the design and so far its holding up nicely. This nail bracelet is steel that is plated with 18k gold. It is made very well and looks beautiful on. We are constantly getting so many compliments on this bracelet. It did take us a little bit to figure out how to open the bracelet to put it on. The head of the nail is permanently attached to the bracelet but right before the head of the nail, you have to push down to open. It isn't easy to open, but when it is closed you don't have to worry about it just opening up and falling off.
I have pretty big wrists for a girl and it does fit me. It also fits my daughter's wrist as well, a lot more dangle on her wrist than mine. What I love about this bracelet besides it being unique is you can dress up with it or wear it casually. We completely recommend this bracelet!”
“This is pretty nifty of a gift idea for the right person or even for someone who likes jewelry that is kinda different. It seems well made & looks like a nail that has been turned into a bracelet. It hinges on the bottom & snaps loose right at the nail head & pops back in place when ready. It is more for a petite wrist as it is to small for my average sized wrist.”
“It offers a 3/8" Nail Head which features a center hole on the bottom, into which a pin on the grooved part of the nail interlocks to hold it securely in place. It locks extremely tightly, so don't be afraid to pull hard where the grooves are while holding the nail head in your other hand to open it. There is a flat style hinge on the back of the bracelet which allows it to open a full 3" to aid in putting it on. Once on your wrist, simply lock the pin into the hole in the nail head to secure. It was a bit tricky at first as the pin and the hole are slightly offset, however after a few tries I was able to easily fasten it without issue.
The overall dimensions when closed are approx. 2 1/2" Wide by 2" Deep. My wrist measures 6" and it fits with room to spare, so it should fit up to a 7 1/4" wrist size as mentioned in the product description, although the fit will be snug. I noticed some words on the top of the nail head and got out my magnifying glass to read them, only to discover that Silver Phantom has engraved their name in very tiny letters on the top of the nail head!I appreciate that the engraving is there but barely noticeable, as I tend to shy away from wearing anything with a large company logo on it.
As a carpenter's daughter, it reminds me of the many long hours my father put in pounding nails to provide for our family and I will wear it proudly in his honor.”
