“The aluminium profiles I received were so thin, that I honestly initially thought they were made of plastic until I confirmed conductivity with a multimeter. Because they were so thin and malleable, the provided clips would slightly crush the profile in those sections. Not only is this visible in itself, but it would also cause the diffuser to bow in sections where it was near a clip, which was incredibly noticeable.
The images on the Simple Lighting website showed reasonably thick aluminium. But also, the description and diagram stated an external width of 17.5mm and an internal width of 12.2mm - which logically should mean a thickness of (17.5 - 12.2)/2 = 2.65mm for each side. What I received had an internal width of nearly 17mm, and a thickness of around 0.5mm on each side.
When I contacted Simple Lighting they mentioned to me that they were currently using a backup supplier - so it's entirely possible you could order this and receive a product without these issues. On the other hand, you could receive the same thing. Simple Lighting also advised that the pictures on the website "are only representative" - so be aware of that.”
