“I have to say this is simply my favourite violin case. Bam are noted for being super strong, and if you're after a light-weight, solid case for protecting your precious violin, you don't need to look any further. I've used an older Hightech for years without any problems. As far as functionality goes, its almost identical to the older Hightech cases (though the locks seem to have been updated) - you won't be able to carry any music around in it. Also, unless you've got a collapsible shoulder rest (like a wolf), the same goes. If you've got a collapsible shoulder rest, you can fit that in, along with rosin, new strings, peg-paste, etc...
As for design, which is probably why most people would get this, this is the most spectacular case I've ever seen. It's extremely glossy, with the pattern below the surface. Everyone I've shown it to loves it. Just note that it mightn't look exactly like the photo (it probably depends upon where they start the pattern) mine has a bit of red on the top, and then the darker colours, making the case not too over the top - the really bright display is on the underside.
