Eterra Earth Auger Bits Description The Eterra Earth Auger Bits are built for heavy-duty drilling, delivering precision and durability for skid steers, mini skid steers, and other auger drive systems. Designed with a 2" hex connection, these bits provide a secure fit and maximum torque transfer, handling tough digging conditions without slipping. Available in widths from 4" to 36" and a standard 48" length, they are rated up to 4,500 ft-lbs of torque, making them ideal for fence post installation, tree planting, foundation work, and utility digging. Each auger bit comes with a standard carbon steel pilot point, designed for general-purpose digging. Operators can upgrade to a tungsten carbide fishtail pilot, which provides better durability and cutting efficiency in compacted soils and rocky conditions. The number of cutting teeth increases with bit size, starting at 0 teeth for the 4" bit and going up to 10 teeth on the 36" model. Additional standard or tungsten carbide replacement teeth are available for purchase, ensuring long-term performance even in abrasive ground conditions. Whether working in soft dirt, clay, or rocky terrain, Eterra auger bits provide reliable, high-performance drilling for any job site. Do not use Earth Auger Bits on solid surfaces like concrete or asphalt driveways. For solid surface conditions choose a specialized rock auger bit, offered here: Eterra Rock Auger Bit Features

The price and initial service was good. The auger bent on the 8th hole. We have used skid steers and augers from the same rental company for two years and NEVER bent or damaged an auger bit. This bit twisted and bent on our first job. Company says it was our fault. No discussion after that. We are very disappointed as we were looking forward to using this bit in our business for a long time. We will have to look elsewhere for better customer service and a better product.

My stubborn, retired pop went through 3 tractor supply augers in 14 months. Always blamed the user or skid steer. Finally decided to end me getting the blame..so i seeked out a heavy duty auger..purchased the 6" from eterra, good pricing too.OMG, what an heavy duty unit..2 days after receiving we put in 22 poles..average hole auger time to go 30" was right at 13 seconds or quicker . No kidding. My pop stated" bout time you got us a real auger bit!" No more blaming me for those bent cheap auger bits that ended up in the scrap pile. Thank you eterra, thank you skid steer solutions.

Hey David, High quality equipment will not let you down. These auger bits will last forever if treated well, but won't complain if you put them through a little abuse. It's amazing how many manufacturers are too proud to accept their products are not high quality, and therefore blade the operator... Eterra has never handled things that way, and the FEW product issues they have are handled with dignity, and a willingness to learn and improve their products. Wishing you great productivity with your new favorite auger bit. Let us know if you ever need more quality attachments or accessories for your machine. Cheers! Skid Steer Solutions

The shaft of this auger is only schedule 40 steel pipe. I found this out when it bent after hitting a rock on the 4th hole. I was very disappointed as I was told it would be fine for rocky ground. This was not the case. I would not recommend.

Hi Paul, We're sorry to hear this was your experience with the Eterra Earth Auger Bit. These bits are designed to drill in rocky soil, but not drill through rock itself which may be the case in this instance. Please contact customer service (cservice@skidsteersolutions.com) if you have any more questions or concerns, as they have the most knowledge on these issues. All the best, Skid Steer Solutions

I live in northeast PA in big shale country. I bought the 4" auger to put hot cote fence in for my race horses. I drilled through thick shale in minutes. I bought the carbide teeth with my auger. If you're worried about rocks, don't worry! This unit is 10x better than the local fencing company's sugar that I rented. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Bought this 8 inch diameter auger bit to replace a competitor's auger that bent and broke after drilling 5 post holes in rocky ground. This auger bit just churns out the rocks and shows little wear after more than 100 post holes in tough soil conditions. I would recommend this line of bits to others. Cost a little more, but gets the job done without any down time.
