Eterra Auger Stump Planer Description The Eterra Auger Stump Planer is a cost-effective and high-quality accessory, designed to fit with Eterra 3500 and 4500 model auger drives. If you frequently encounter pesky stumps impeding your work, but not enough to warrant a dedicated stump-grinding machine, this attachment could be your solution. Instead of outsourcing stump removal, utilize your Eterra Auger to incorporate the Stump Planer onto your 2-inch hex drive. This Stump Planer is compatible with any auger possessing a 2" Hex output shaft, given appropriate torque levels. If you don't have a 2" Hex output shaft, consider our Eterra Auger Adapters. This planer is complete with three replaceable steel tool cutters that are able to be sharpened, and a starter tip with an 18" digging depth. Equipped with guides on the cutter's trailing edge, the planer does not recoil from the hole. The starter tip aids in pushing the planer through the stump, avoiding overload or jamming. Stump Planer Torque Requirements: Torque output depends on your auger drive's rating and your loader's hydraulic flow. For torque output information, refer to your auger drive's specifications or consult with the manufacturer. 10" Stump Planer Torque Range: 2,200-6,000 Ft. Lbs.14" Stump Planer Torque Range: 3,300-6,000 Ft. Lbs. **Please note: this accessory is not recommended for hard wood or green wood (fresh) stumps. “On lagers stumps. After you drill a couple of holes you canâ€™t get the smaller parts that are left. The nose bit is a little to aggressive for my SVL75”

Hey Michael! Large stumps can be tricky for sure and we're glad you've had a mostly positive experience with the Eterra Stump Planer, it takes some practice and no stump is the same. Let's say your tackling a 36" stump with this Auger Stump Grinder/Planer, - You'll want to to plan out your drill points like a triangle. Two in the lower corners and one at the point and then see if you can fill in two more drill points at the space in the top left and right for a total of 5 drill points. If you can't get the left over pieces, you may have a bit of manual work on your hands but it shouldn't be too much work. On small stumps, it's pretty much unbeatable for the price, however this is not the perfect solution for large stumps. We like to say to our customers, it's the solution that means you don't have to buy another attachment for $7k and you just have to add a specialty bit to your Auger Attachment. “I bought a 14" model... I have an 100 acre pasture/timber that we run cows on and let neighbors cut fire wood out of, with this planer I was able to remove 20+ stumps with my Deere 328 ranging from 10" to 40" in roughly 3.5 hrs.... I found that on hardwood stumps it worked best for me by only loading 2/3rds of the cutting edge or bit to avoid stalling however I do have an older auger drive.... It works great but if the blades had a serrated edge I bet it would work even better on hard woods..... Thanks for the bit”

“So Iâ€™ve taken this into oak, cedar, poplar, ash, birch. Rotten, fresh, in between. Small and 6â€™ is the biggest so far. I havenâ€™t had to spend more than an hour on any one of them. Being able to adjust the angle quick and on the fly has been awesome. Ive done 20 stumps and havenâ€™t had to sharpen blades. The steel is good size and expect to get at least 100 stumps before first sharpen. 60/30 old stump/fresh stump.”

“I did 18 stumps the first time I used it from 40 inch down to less than 12, very fast cutting, the hitch was the pilot bit plugs abd stops progress, cleans easily by lifting out and reversing auger, i run it on a high flow svl90-2, in hard wood it needs it all. on 1 job I did 13 stumps of various sizes in 2 hours, most were 16 to 24 inch. very versatile as I can run it on my CTL or excavator for the hard to reach spots. The shipping was prompt and well protected.”

“Great concept! Does not work well with the 4500 auger drive. Hangs up all the time. Use the 10" instead!”
