Eterra E70 Skid Steer Backhoe Attachment Description The Eterra E70 Backhoe for skid steers flaunts one of the highest quality designs for a skid steer backhoe attachment on the market. Unlike most backhoe attachment designs, the E70 enables the operator to utilize an optional hydraulic thumb and dig 7 feet with break out power of 14,000 lbs. The E70 series of skid steer backhoes are based on an original Eterra backhoe design from 1998. This backhoe has evolved over the years, resulting in a durable and trustworthy attachment with incredibly dynamic features, offering more reach and more options available to you on the job site. The 7 foot boom gives you 7 feet of reach. Eterra has improved the relief qualities of the cylinder so there is no need for a separate valve. Movement has also been updated to better connect to the ECS quick coupler. The idea for a hydraulic thumb was conceived and developed post-Hurricane Katrina due to a demand for a backhoe with a grapple and a fixed thumb. After gathering extensive customer feedback, Eterra designed a hydraulic thumb to allow for debris and material handling. It also features remote hydraulics for powered attachments and a special quick-change coupler that allows the operator to switch out your buckets or accessories within a few minutes. The Solenoid Controlled Hydraulic Thumb and Remote Hydraulics options includes a remote output port with couplers so you can add additional hydraulic backhoe attachments for skid steer loaders to the ECS backhoe coupler that your bucket or accessory connects to.  You can expect 14,000 pounds of break-out power and a boom reach of 90" with the bucket installed on your E70 Skid Steer Backhoe. Please note the 8" bucket is recommended for use with the E40 and E60 series of backhoes. The 8" will work with the E70, but the thumb will be wider than the bucket, making digging difficult. Some customers utilize the 8" bucket in different and creative ways, so the option is still available if you have a use in mind. Why buy an Eterra E70 Skid Steer Backhoe System? Well, it is the #1 backhoe on the market for a reason. It works great and lasts, as well as being supported by a full parts department. Eterra strives to set the industry standard, demanding excellence out of their entire line of products.

So far, I’ve only used the grapple rake, but combined with the thumb,it’s easy to grab and transport different items. The additional reach allows me to stand off from what I’m working on. Can’t wait to try the buckets.

Attachment points for bucket and root rake grapple easily bend. Was hoping that it would have been built stronger than it is. It worked fine in beach sand conditions but second job was the last job could use on because basically broken since. Need to order replacement parts and remember not to use it on anything past soft soil.

I have had the E70 with the hydraulic thumb for a couple of years now. Initially one of the bucket bolts was misaligned which bound up when I was taking the bucket on and off so I drilled out the wedge and fixed that issue. I started to bend the pins on my quick attachment plate so I put some bolts through the plate and have not had problems since. I have found the thumb to be very useful for picking up rock for stone walls, tearing down vines out of trees 17ft in the air, and grabbing roots, brush and small trees. I can dig a trench very quickly. The electric remote control works on my CAT pilot controls without issue. Great value for the price!

Couple issues on Shipping and Product. Both taken care of swiftly. Works as it should. Bucket seemed to be little soft, got in some clay/rock bent side and facing lip already. But its tool and and meant to work.

It is the best addition to my skid steer attachments, I purchased the E70 to dig in some culverts & do alittle trenching, but with the hydraulic thumb option I use it to grab fallen trees & load onto trailer, also great for picking items that were out of reach with using my forks. everyone at skidsteer solutions was great to work with especially Craig, he was very helpful with all my ?'s & that's why I purchased from them, they make a great product & have great service.

ONE OF THE BEST INVESTMENTS I EVER MADE. THE VERSATILITY IS AMAZING! PLENTY OF POWER WITHOUT THE BULK AND SIZE RESTRICTIONS OF A FULL SIZE BACKHOE. LOVE IT! EXTREMELY WELL BUILT! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
