Eterra E70 Skid Steer Backhoe Attachment Description The Eterra E70 Backhoe for skid steers flaunts one of the highest quality designs for a skid steer backhoe attachment on the market. Unlike most backhoe attachment designs, the E70 enables the operator to utilize an optional hydraulic thumb and dig 7 feet with break out power of 14,000 lbs. The E70 series of skid steer backhoes are based on an original Eterra backhoe design from 1998. This backhoe has evolved over the years, resulting in a durable and trustworthy attachment with incredibly dynamic features, offering more reach and more options available to you on the job site. The 7 foot boom gives you 7 feet of reach. Eterra has improved the relief qualities of the cylinder so there is no need for a separate valve. Movement has also been updated to better connect to the ECS quick coupler. The idea for a hydraulic thumb was conceived and developed post-Hurricane Katrina due to a demand for a backhoe with a grapple and a fixed thumb. After gathering extensive customer feedback, Eterra designed a hydraulic thumb to allow for debris and material handling. It also features remote hydraulics for powered attachments and a special quick-change coupler that allows the operator to switch out your buckets or accessories within a few minutes. The Solenoid Controlled Hydraulic Thumb and Remote Hydraulics options includes a remote output port with couplers so you can add additional hydraulic backhoe attachments for skid steer loaders to the ECS backhoe coupler that your bucket or accessory connects to.  You can expect 14,000 pounds of break-out power and a boom reach of 90" with the bucket installed on your E70 Skid Steer Backhoe. Please note the 8" bucket is recommended for use with the E40 and E60 series of backhoes. The 8" will work with the E70, but the thumb will be wider than the bucket, making digging difficult. Some customers utilize the 8" bucket in different and creative ways, so the option is still available if you have a use in mind. Why buy an Eterra E70 Skid Steer Backhoe System? Well, it is the #1 backhoe on the market for a reason. It works great and lasts, as well as being supported by a full parts department. Eterra strives to set the industry standard, demanding excellence out of their entire line of products.

I just wanted to make a few comments on my recent purchase of the E70 backhoe attachment. I've had the opportunity to use it several hours. I've dug a 2' deep X 65' utility ditch, grubbed a 10" and 20" caliper tree and loaded several concrete curb cuts ( each weighing 300-600# per) As a whole I'm totally impressed with how it performs and is now one of my favorite SS attachments. I've not babied it at all and can say that as of this writing the weakest part of the unit is the yoke that the bucket cylinder is attached to needs to be stronger. It may only need to have a plate stiffener added to make it stronger but I've already bent it. It appears to be made of some type of cast material. This material is easy to drill and is too soft for the purpose of this yoke. The other item is very minor but should be addressed and that is the plug in for the 7 pin bobcat converter. When plugging the male into the converter it will not "click" in so it is prone to work loose / Sure I can tape it but it would be better if it "clicked " Lastly -Changing buckets with the system you have of a wedge plate with 2 - 4" bolts is really inconvenient for quickly changing buckets/grapple etc. I modified it for a much easier/quicker change over and it works great now. In closing - Overall I'm very well pleased with the E70 and look forward to the many jobs it will allow me to do and the many uses that I may not know it can do - Thank you for a great product and quick delivery! Sincerely, Scott Olson

Thanks Skippy for suggesting the upgrade, I could not be happier with E70. I would suggest that you do a video showing how easy it is to hook up to an older machine that does not have auxiliary controls for the hydraulics. Your included switch hook up is as easy as you said it would be. I think more people would choose to upgrade to the E70 because of the hydraulic thumb. It makes picking, moving and placing rock, brush and pipe a breeze. Thumb stays out of the way while digging and trenching and is ready for use to remove rocks as needed. This attachment adds a whole new list of capabilities to my machine. Next accessory will be a grapple rake. Thank for the great service, support and shipping.

I bought the E70 about 5 years ago when I was building my own house-- it has transformed my older skid steer machine into a workhorse-- I originally just had a bucket and forks for the New Holland, But adding the backhoe has added so many tasks that I can now use the machine to accomplish... from clearing downed trees after an ice storm, to digging trenches, to placing rocks for a retaining wall, this attachment has handled it all. My New Holland is a super strong machine, and the backhoe attachment increases the amount of that strength that can actually be used for productive tasks. I love it.

I bought an E-70 as an upgrade to the E-60 I was running. The hydraulic thumb was the main reason for the upgrade. I cannot say enough good things about the thumb; suffice to say it increased my productivity by at least 50%. I use the backhoe mostly with the root rake for grubbing stumps, roots and palmettos. Trash and debris disposal run a close second in my business, the E-70 excels at both. Secondly, the customer service at Skidsteer Solutions is 100%; Rob is passionate about his products and cares about his customers. Top Notch Sir!
