“This SPF has such a strong white cast it makes me look like an actual ghost and it doesn’t go away. I even get a line around my hair line of where my actual skin colour is vs the white cast”

Only a small pea size amount is needed to be used, too much may cause the product to have that white cast layer on your skin. Someone from our customer care team will be in touch. “Spreads well but looks very white. As it is mineral based I was surprised that it contains so many ingredients. Was hoping it would be a more eco friendly product. Hossanah”

“I really don't like this product, it's white and chalkey and makes me look so so pale. The only way I can wear it is if I wear a darker foundation over it which is far from ideal. I really wouldn't recommend this product. I've used the mineral radiance version of this sunscreen and absolutely loved it, but this one is really disappointing :(”

Thank you for taking the time to review this product. Please ensure that you shake the bottle before using as there is a mixer ball inside the product to ensure the product is fully mixed. Only a small amount of this product is required, once applied please allow a couple of minutes for it to absorb into the skin. “I religiously use the SkinCeuticals Mineral Radiance Defense. I decided to try the Sheer Mineral Defense and I haven't been as happy. While the texture is the same nice sheer texture that doesn't irritate sensitive skin, this not a pigmented sunscreen. I find the white color leaves a ghost-like hue. It's good for using at the beach, but less ideal under makeup for day-to-day use.”

“I am very disappointed with this mineral UV defence SPF 50 .....because the suncream is leaving a very strange, thick white layer on my skin. I wouldn't recommend this product for anyone who wants to wear makeup on the top”

“Found this after I reacted to every other face sunscreen - even the Zelens one ( a treat if you can cope with the avonbenzone) Eventually researched chemical content and realised that this was worth a try. Am on third bottle now. Goes on under makeup and doesn't 'roll' under foundation. Comfortable on my dry skin all day and has not caused any reaction. Allow a few minutes to soak in and whiteness disappears. Skinceuticals are a wonderful brand - CE Ferulic is another one to try!”
