“I really wanted to love this product as I have been using the intense version and I have been very impressed with the results of that. I thought I would use this during the day. This white version is much lighter in texture, not as nourishing as the black intense version. I found with this one, one pump is not enough for the face and neck and it just seems like a serium, very lightweight. My face and neck have come out in a rash every time I have used this and I have been using it for about three weeks. I have been using retinol for years without any issue and I have had no issues with the intense version which my skin seems to love and good results. So disappointed with this product which I bought on the recommendation of skincity therapist. Very costly mistake.”

“I'm 68 years old with good skin, and purchased this product hoping it would improve the quality of my skin further. After one month, very little improvement and I have returned to my former skin regime. This product is way too expensive and as far as I'm concerned does not live up to the hype. Will not be purchasing it again.”

“The only reason I haven’t given this product 5/5 is because I haven’t been using it for long enough. I have used retinol serums before and reacted badly, causing red, flaky skin. I much prefer using a cream consistency, which smells lovely. My skin is certainly clearer and I suspect after 4-6 weeks of a skin cycle I will see a diffference in fine lines. My only complaint is having to ring up to order it - the only question you are asked is ‘have you used it before’, to which I answered yes. There is no further delving about skin type, previous reactions to retinol - what’s the point???”

“I like Medik8 products and I like this cream. It is still too early to notice results with wrinkles so i dont know if it is more effective than other retinol products but it goes on well, and it really is non-irritating. I have very sensitive skin but have no problem with this product. I started gradually and now use twice a day. I will purchase again but my only issue is the over the top presentation/packaging and the fact you have to ring first to order..cannot order directly on line. All this feels, to me, like a marketing ploy to make out exclusivity etc when what would be good would be to dispense with the fancy packaging and knock £20 of the price. Retinyl-Retinoate is used in other products such as Bare Minerals powders so not exclusive. I did mention re packaging to the company and the response was " r-Retinoate is a luxury product and does require luxury packing to ensure you receive the full experience of this great product to include an Advanced and encapsulated retinyl retinoate (the patented active inside r-Retinoate), is a worldwide exclusive for Pangaea (the makers of Medik8) and has been created via an exclusive collaboration with a Superlab where their incredible raw technology was taken and made into a high performing finished product."”

“I can't say enough good things about this truly superlative new retinoid compound. R retinoate is a ground breaking new molecule fusing retinol and retinoic acid. Retinoic acid (retin a, Tretinoin) has always been close to my heart and has rotated in and out of my routine now for nearly a decade. However, it is a prescription only product and as such, it has side effects and must be used under the guidance of a qualified practitioner. Even then, most people will not be able to tolerate constant use of retin a and your skin will eventually need a break. Retinol on the other hand is available without prescription and is an amazing and fully viable alternative to direct retinoic acid, often producing great results with fewer side effects. However, because it takes the skin two metabolic processes to convert retinol back into retinoic acid, results are not as dramatic as retin a and take a lot longer to achieve. The r retinoate in medik 8s new formula is only ONE metabolic process away from being converted in your skin into retinoic acid (immediately available to the skin) and retinol which can be further converted in the skin for a time released boost. It is up to 8 times more effective than retinol! with significantly less irritation and dramatically less irritation than direct retinoic acid (retin a). In short ;) it's pretty exciting stuff! Whether your a retinoid (vitamin a) Virgin, or a seasoned product junkie like me, YOU NEED TO TRY THIS!!!!”
