The 1 star is deserved in a positive way because it is moisturizing, the texture is nice and it does not leave any white cast or visible residue, which is great! (Also because there is no option to give 0 stars...) I don't know where to start with this and I honestly don't understand how this Dermalogica product has 4.5 stars on the Dermalogica website: 1) the smell is horrible and strong, like burnt plastic and it doesn't go away after the application or not even after hours or applying other products on top (even if slightly fragranced); 2) it does not mattify, it does nothing from that point of view. I have acne-prone and combination skin, more towards oily, and I was really looking for a product that was a good moisturizer + SPF + mattifying all in one, so when I found it, I thought "finally". - I am very disappointed and, even if it was mattifying, I would not be able to use it because I can't stand the nasty smell! I wonder what was in the mind of who decided that this smell is acceptable (especially on the face, hence around the nose), who tested it and who approved it. Just NO.

Thank you for taking the time to review our products. I am sorry to hear that, Dermalogica is a fragrance free brand so the smell will be natural from the ingredients. Someone from our customer care team will be in touch. With love, Skincity.

I really stand by the brand but I can't stand by the sunscreen with conviction. It didn't break me out or irritate my skin out so I do believe the ingredients are soft on sensitive prone skin. The issue lies with the the lack of hydration and the constant reapplication because of dryness. Although not a popular opinion, I don't like to layer moisturiser and sunscreen but with this you have to. The scent is potent but doesn't bother me - it smells like it's killing my acne so I dig that.
