“Engine arrived the day after I ordered it and had everything I needed for installation. With the kit, installation was pretty straight forward. However, written instructions were very limited and I felt that text may have conflicted with the photos provided, at least in relation to the throttle cable. Kit included hardware to raise the hood on my tractor, but the only way I could figure out how to install it resulted in the hood being raised 2+ inches, which was too much. A photo of the intended installation would have been helpfull. I ended up not needing to raise my hood after I widened the exhauste penetration slightly to accomodate the exhaust pipe. I was able to do this by just bending the metal out a little, not drilling or cutting. Engine started right up following installation in my warm garage. After the tractor had sat out overnight engine was a little harder to start than I was expecting in temps bairly below freezing. I have a 20 year old single cylinder briggs that starts easily in any weather, so that is what I was hoping for with this one. The engine is not lacking power and runs smoother and quiter than the Onan it replaced.”
