“What can I say ..... we'll always have France. What a wonderful tour. Short of waking us up at 2:00 a.m. I don't think we could have seen more. Days were packed with tours. The dinners that were included were spectacular and our guide, Damien was ......well let's just say if I was 40 years younger!!! All kidding aside he was great. Herding 27 people around for 13 days with humor. Informative both of France's history and personal insights made the trip beyond memorable. Plus, since my husband screwed up our travel plans took time to get it all straightened out. I literally cried when saying goodbye to him. This is our 3rd trip with SmaTours and am already dreaming about where to go next.”

“Trip was FANTASTIC. Great fellow travelers and our tour guide, Damian, was top, top notch. Incredibly helpful when my husband messed up our travel plans. Brought humor, knowledge and insight into France. Tour itself was wonderful. Short of waking us up at 2:00 am I don’t know how we could have seen anymore. Normandy was emotional and the highlight of the trip. Third trip with SmarTours. Will definitely do another!”

“We went on the Unforgettable France tour from September 5 to September 18. Our guide, Damien Ganem, was wonderful. He had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable about the places we visited. We were impressed with how smoothly everything ran and when there was an occasional problem how quickly Damien was able to fix it with a plan B. Our local guides were wonderful, but in particular we enjoyed the enthusiasm of our guide Natalie as she took us through Avignon. Breakfasts were wonderful and the included dinners were very good also. We always stopped in nice places for lunch and "ice cream". The hotels (except for the one in Caen) were up-to-par with comfy beds and fluffy pillows and towels. If you've not been to the countryside in France I recommend this tour. It took us to Normandy, Loire Valley, Provence and Cote d'Azur, Nice and, of course, Paris. It was a wonderful overvue of a beautiful country. We loved that the airfare was included, and we feel that we got great value for the money we spent. We also loved that the group size was limited to 30 - we had 27.”

“This was our 15+ tour with Smartours and as usual, we were very pleased. Our tour director, Agnes, was knowledgeable , efficient and caring. She always managed to beat the crowds at our sightseeing stops! The itinerary was well planned. The major sights of each area were visited and well explained by Agnes. The breakfasts were excellent as were the included dinners. My only suggestion would be to serve an alternate main course at the final dinner in Nice as rabbit was not well received by our group. The hotels were clean and the rooms were spacious. All in all, excellent value for your dollar on this tour!”

“One of the best trips we've taken with SmarTours. The itinerary gives you a great overview of the country. The visit to Normandy was especially moving since it was right before the 75th anniversary of D-Day. A special thanks to our tour director, Urban Sorban, who made the whole trip so memorable. During our visit to the American cemetery at Normandy, Urban sang 'Where Have All the Flowers Gone' and we joined in, which made it very emotional. As well as the information Urban gave us during the trip, the local tour guides were also very knowledgeable at all the sites and cities we visited. This is our seventh trip with SmarTours and we have never been disappointed.”

“Nice fellow travelers, very good tour leader, too much time visiting castles-one is enough. Except for Caen, accomodations nice. Good idea to limit group to 30 max.”

“This tour is very aptly named. It offers a terrific overview of France - from the City of Lights to the beautiful Cote d'Azur and we loved it all. We had a most congenial group of fellow travellers and the weather was co-operative (for the most part). The local guides were very good. But what made this tour extraordinary was our tour director - Damien Ganem. He is a tour director par excellence. He is an extremely caring individual with a great sense of humour. He prepared us for each area we visited and did so with flair. He also gave us wonderful insight to France as a whole, both past and present. Dealing with a disparate group of seniors cannot be an easy task, but he handled everything effortlessly. He went above and beyond to make sure that each and every one of us was looked after and comfortable. If he is any example, France should be very proud of its young people. Kudos Damien. Thank you for making Unforgettable France truly Unforgettable.”

Not only was he knowledgeable about the regions we visited - presenting them to us with flair - but he also gave us great insight into France as a whole both past and present.
