“If you're looking to protet your head: I believe this will do it. Bad news is it's expensive and a lot of the features. . . . aren't. Pros and Cons below.
Pros
-It protects your head.
-I presume the MIPS and whatever else protects your head even more better! But I haven't tried getting smashed in the head yet.
Cons
-Colors are unexciting, and out of stock.
-There's a bunch of features, but good luck trying to figure out how to use them
-Removable ear pads: the ear pad fabric has a hole with a plastic piece used to fit the helmet on my head, so without snipping the fabric or breaking the plastic that ear pad isn't going anywhere.
-Aleck audio system compatible: HOW? besides cutting open the ear pad and sliding a headphone in there's no directions on how this works or if it exists
-It's a big honkin helmet. It's hard to tell in the curated photos, but it's a big helmet on your noodle. There are sexier helmets out there.
-The dumb yellow "MIPS" sticker is dumb and difficult to scratch off.
-For a helmet, mostly made of styrofoam, it's expensive. $145 retail before tax and shipping? Too much.”
“This helmet pictures that it has the MIPS system (yellow dot), but it does not! False advertising and now no one will answer my emails or calls (on hold forever til I give up). I just want to return without paying for return shipping. Hoping this negative but honest review will get the ball rolling.”
“Great helmet except the goggle retention clip rattles on chattery snow. The helmet fits great and can be either warm or well ventilated, but the important clip on back that holds the goggle strap opens from the bottom and isn't rigid and so it rattles loudly against the helmet when I ski over chauss and bumps. Has anyone found a way to muffle this?”
“The helmet fits great. It keeps my head pretty warm on cold days too without having to wear any beanie cap underneath. I have Smith goggles that fit the helmet good BUT, the goggles slide out of the goggle keeper in the back of the helmet all the time. I dropped my goggles more than once this season when wearing them up on the helmet. I have never had this happen before so I think I got a bad one on my helmet honestly. So, I would give 5 stars for the fit, but you get 3 for not so great quality check on the flimsy goggle keeper on the back.”
“I have been using this helmet for less than a season and I already want to get rid of it. I ski with a backpack for avalanche gear and the open-bottomed goggle fastener caught the top loop of my backpack, pulling my head backwards so I could not see where I was going. Thankfully on this occasion I stopped safely and managed to free myself but next time I may not be so lucky, furthermore, the goggle clip is now bent outwards, rendering it useless and also making it more likely for this to happen again. I will not be buying another Smith helmet so the 30% voucher offered by Smith support will not be put to use.”

“The Smith Mission Helmet save my live on New Years day, when one of my binding failed. The helmet is ruined by my head is not. Thank you for a quality product.”
