“We had a group of six on the slopes with these over a one-week trip. After the initial learning curve on the first day, they worked well. The learning curve just required everyone to be on the same sheet- correct mode, correct group, unmuted vs muted, etc. I have to admit that at the end of the first day, I thought we had wasted our money. But day two went off without a hitch. Great comms the whole day in party mode and in what we called “breakout groups.”
We were at Park City which has good cellular coverage in most areas we used. As long as we had good cell coverage, we had good comms. One of our group members even got into the group from the condo to tell to others on the slopes that he was headed out (finally).
One drawback we found is that you’re either talking or listening to music. You can’t do both (or we couldn’t figure out how to accomplish this). Music plays through your phone’s app and comms through the Aleck App. Perhaps, if the Aleck App could also control the music, it could automatically pause to talk like headsets I use with my motorcycle do. But if you enjoy talking with your friends & family while skiing, who really needs music?
Being able to communicate will change how you ski with groups. You have to just be patient in the learning phase and figure out how to really make them work.”
“I was skiing in very cold weather with my face fully protected with Goggles, baclava, mask,..
I was easily able to make and receive phone calls, and listen to music, without taking my gloves or anything else off. People on the receiving end said the sound was good.”
“The idea is great, execution is awful. These worked at home before our trip. As soon as we got on the mountain my pair would auto shut off the volume almost immediately so I could not hear my party (but they could hear me). Music never worked.”

Functionality, Quality
“Absolutely love these speakers. They were very easy to zip into my Liberty MIPS helmet and paired quickly to my iPhone. I’ve used them for music and a few calls for 5 days straight on one charge.
Unlike my husband’s 10 year old speakers, these play music just for me- no one else on the lift can hear what I’m playing.
Minimal buttons, so reading the instructional pamphlet is a must, but I was easily switching between calls, skipping songs and changing the volume by day 2.”
