“Just bought 2 of these so my partner and I could communicate on the mountain. We used them this past weekend at Palisades. At first I was excited because the sound was great when installed. However using the intercom system was really frustrating. It would occasionally work, and then it would randomly drop despite great cell phone service. Once it dropped, it would randomly work and then not work. It would show it was connected and unmuted, but nothing. Will not buy the numchuck brand again.”
“Great concept, flawed execution. Unable to use the communication and music feature simultaneously. When in “party line” mode (everyone connected with open mic), the music is muted to nearly inaudible, even if no one is talking. The Push to Talk function has been disabled by the manufacture because of software issues so that feature is not available. Also connection unit together takes multiple attempts with in consistent connection. Tried multiple times on the mountain with no success. Finally gave up. Contacted manufacture for refund process and they refused to refund because it was more than 30 days beyond purchase. Bought 4 units for my ski buddies during sale promotion which was well before any resorts were open for skiing so unable to test within 30 day window. Very disappointed with the lack of customer service. Shame on you Smith for associating with this inferior product. Buyer beware.”

“I have a Smith variant helmet, which I plan to replace with a new nexus. I gave two stars, because although the sound quality of the speakers is good the range is terrible. The way they fit in the ear pads does not allow them to sit close enough to your ears. They fit in the pads just fine, you just have to press them up against your ears with your hands, in order to hear the bass and the full speaker sound. the moment you take your hands away the volume (on max) is insufficient and the sound gets thin. Also, I bought them on pro deal, and for some reason I’m not able to return them. Not sure what to do with them. I guess I’ll stick with my corded Skullcandy‘s.”
“No snow yet so I have not been able to use them. My wife has a pair and loves them. Makes a lot easier on the ski slope when you can answer a telephone call without getting in your pockets and getting into your cell phones.”
