“Sooo much easier than the regular bulb aspirator! I'm no longer scared that I'll jam it into her nose too much by accident and cause a nose bleed! She's still not a fan of having her snot sucked out but this is just so much more efficient and quicker too! And the customer service has been amazing as well! The unit we received was faulty and it was replaced with a new one within a week”

“It's OK and has been helpful but it's not really worth the price tag and it is really huge! I would have thought these days that they'd be able to reduce the size of the motor part. The whole product design seems quite old fashioned and a bit outdated and so is the branding on the product and the box. I think it probably needs a bit of modernisation and product design update. The rubber nossle is better than the hard plastic ones of the manual aspirators, but I dont suck any more out than I do with the manual one and my baby hates it just as much. Overall though I think the biggest problem I have with it is just how huge the product is, not portable at all really and it's hard to hold because of how big and long it is. It is also way overpriced for what it is. Worth maybe $50 or $60 at the absolute most. I'm a little disappointed and probably wouldn't recommend it, the manual one is more affordable and does the job. I also bought it thinking it was an Australian made and owned product but on reading about it, it seems like it just has a local distributor? The customer service is lovely though.”

Hi Elisha. We appreciate your feedback on the design and function of Snotty Boss. We just wanted to touch on a few points. As the diameter of the cylinder is only 4cm, we have always found it so easy to use one-handed. And as it's long and skinny, we have always found room for it in a nappy or travel bag, especially with the ease of the draw string bag to keep everything it. Definitely less bulky than a wipes container or bottle. A feature that sets Snotty Boss apart is the large size of the collection cup and this was a very deliberate design choice. Smaller collection cups on our competitor designs might looks visually more appealing but they fill and leak very quickly. We had a choice to go with a smaller collection cup, but knew the function (of no leaks or overflow) would probably be preferred by our customers. Australia has strict regulations when it comes to medical devices, so we don't apologise for Snotty Boss being one of the premium aspirators on the market. It must be tested and registered with TGA, and it's made with the highest quality BPA free plastic and silicone - all of those things cost more. There are definitely cheaper materials on the market, and designs which are not regulated in Australia, but I wouldn't use them on my baby. I guess like most things with babies (cots, prams, high chair, nappy bags) there is a range of price points. But I wouldn't compromise on a medical device. Snotty Boss is a similar price to digital thermometers. Yes, there are manual ones available, but we find parents are happy to pay a little more for a premium design. Yes, we are a company based in Brisbane, but Snotty Boss is made in Taiwan, a factory with strict bio-medical and MSDS regulations and ethical manufacturing. I'm sure you understand that if Snotty Boss was made in Australia, it would cost twice as much, maybe more!
