It's important to twist the collection cup gently onto the base, and not twist too far.

Cleaning Your Snotty Boss Aspirator
Please ensure thorough and regular cleaning of the Snotty Aspirator, to ensure optimum performance and lifespan.
Remove the silicon tip and collection cup and rinse under the hot water tap.
Do not wet or unscrew the white base unit.
If snot has leaked into motor (and motor sounds gurgly) do an ADVANCED FLUSH (see link below)
Do not place collection cup in steriliser.
