“This valve is the most basic automatic valve that Rain Bird has. All it does is open and close. There is no flow-control for fine tuning (you get that in the 100-DVF), and it does not last very long if you are running unfiltered dirty/ reclaimed water through it (you want a 100-PEB or PESB for that). It is best used with normal culinary (house or city) water. Its price and simplicity are its best characteristics. But in my opinion, spend the extra dollar or two and get the DVF. The only time I consistently recommend this valve is for the control of a drip zone (like in the XCZ-100-PRF).”
