The setup process was made incredibly easy thanks to the user-friendly Orbit B-hyve app available on both Android and iOS devices. The app is well-designed and intuitive, walking me through the setup process with ease. I especially loved the zone setup process which was simple yet comprehensive, allowing me to customize all the details to fully optimize the Smart Watering process. The app prompts you to name the zone, includes an actual photo of the zone, soil type, plant type, sprinkler type, sun/shade coverage, slope, sprinkler head count, and even advanced details!
The advanced details were particularly fascinating as they allowed me to enter very specific data on the zone, which helped me optimize the watering process. These details included application rate, efficiency, plant factor, microclimate factor, field capacity, root zone, allowable surface accumulation, and more that I had to read about to understand. The software lets you enter the parameters and then shows you the computed results below so you can make sure you've accurately defined the zone.
Overall, the Orbit B-hyve has proven to be a game-changer in my gardening experience. I love the convenience it offers, especially with the Smart Watering functionality that adjusts the schedule based on weather and personalized settings.
