“Ocean Palm is an incredibly beautiful villa, nestled on the Gouverneur beach hillside with panoramic views of the ocean. In May, facing the ocean, the sun rises over the hills to the left and sets just behind the villa on the right. Perfect for sunbathing and swimming from sunup to late afternoon. The attention to detail and modern amenities are impressive. The kitchen is fully appointed and all appliances are modern. Everything felt new and well maintained. There are very few villas on Gouverneur. The outdoor space is heavenly, and privacy is 100% from all angles. The landscaping is gorgeous and well-maintained. The pool is heated to just the right temperature, cool during hot days and warm at night. We caught glimpses of some extremely cute local baby goats wandering the hillside.
We have stayed in many different locations on the island in the past. This location is ideal for easy access to Gustavia and St. Jean, where most of the action is located. During our stay, work on the roads continues and many of our old familiar routes were no longer available. Be sure to have your phone carrier cover your stay so that you can access google maps. Absolutely essential, especially at night. Driving is on the right side, but for all the chill vibe of the island, the locals drive very aggressively, especially on the motorbikes. Gotta keep your head on a swivel!
One note - while the villa provides electrical outlet convertors, they will not accomodate any device that draws a lot of power (US hairdryers, other hair appliances) and these will blow when you plug them in (as in permanently destroyed).
All in all, as seasoned travellers, Ocean Palm is one of the best accommodations we have ever stayed in.”
