“I bought the 1200 desk in black a few weeks ago.
Delivery was prompt and well protected in the packaging.
The quality of the desk is fantastic - by far the nicest piece of furniture I've bought recently.
The video on the website makes putting it together a doddle. It does take a wee bit of time to assemble, but honestly, it's not bad at all. The wireless charging is finicky to get the phone just right, but I see that as a bonus item. The height adjustment system is excellent and very granular for height.
Will be recommending to anyone that asks about it”

Cons:
- The online order form omitted a suburb field which I did not notice until dispatch email arrived showing delivery address (I used Google forms to fill out the form). I contacted Standdesk immediately stating that suburb was missing so that courier could be notified, but was assured that it has post code so would be fine. However, not long after the courier called asking for suburb as it had been delivered to another part of Auckland. There were 3 parts to the desk, courier did not re-deliver all parts. It took 5-6 working days for all parts to be delivered. I know this was my fault for no suburb, but please add suburb field to your online form and follow up on requests from customers to tell courier if delivery address needs amending.
- The wireless charger fell out of the socket after about a day. Seems to be sticking better after re-attaching but might need another means of attaching this physically instead of adhesive pad.”
“Having never had one before, I was unsure whether a standing desk was for me, but I decided to take the plunge and give it a try. Honestly, having had it for just a few weeks now, I can honestly say that I would never go back. Although I do sit most of the time, I regularly stand for short intervals to break up the day and have found it really makes a difference to my focus and my comfort. Being able to save height pre-sets makes adjusting your work style a breeze. Features like the wireless charger and cord try make this design a cut above others i’ve seen (although my wireless charger seems to work only intermittently?) and, what’s more, Stand Desk are one of the only (maybe even the only?) NZ based company who produces adjustable height desks, and the design is all their own. There’s never been a better time to support local business so its great to be able to invest in a quality product that does exactly that. Ka pai Stand Desk! I love it!”

“Pros:
- Excellent quality: The desk is beautiful! Very well made and sturdy too.
- Colour options: Being able to choose what colour top and frame you want is awesome. I do wish there was a dark oak colour available, but I'm still happy with my colour choice.
- Easy to assemble: Can be done alone, but so much easier with a 2nd person.
- Cable Tray: Cable management is so easy with the cable tray. I was so impressed with it, I purchased another cable tray (elsewhere) for my other desk.
- Quiet motor: This desk is quieter than the stand desks at work.
- Height customisation: Being able to set up 3 preset heights is amazing! Being able to transition from sitting to standing and vice versa with a simple push of the button is magic.
Cons:
- Phone charger: The adhesive gave up within a matter of hours and the charger itself would pick up my phone (Samsung Galaxy S20+), after having to try and hunt for the spot where it'll register my phone, but then it won't charge.
I was really looking forward to this feature too.
- Monitor mounting: I have a dual monitor arm that has a rather large clamp, so I have to keep the cable tray open so I can fully install the monitor arm onto the desk.
It's not a deal-breaker, as it's not noticeable. Just something to be aware of if you have a monitor arm with a large clamping system.”
Hi Megan - we will send you our new generation charger that has better adhesion. We had a few desks where the routed out hole for the chargers was not sufficiently smooth enough. The new charger (now standard) also has a wider range.
“Really enjoying the stand desk. The packaging and build quality is amazing. Setup a breeze and very easy to use.
What I’ve found after a couple weeks use is that I swap between sitting, standing and cycling every 30 mins or so to mix up the day. It’s really made a huge difference to be able to vary the position rather than just sitting at a desk all day. Aches and pains are a thing of the past.
As my leg muscles get used to standing more, I expect to be able to stand for 60 - 90 mins in each stint.
