“I was sceptical of the sit stand desk idea until recently, when I put my back out and could not sit at my desk – even with my fancy Aeron chair. So after deciding I was going to give it a go and doing the research, I went for the Stand Desk over the other options.
Firstly, where has this desk been all my life? It's changed the way I work and I now will quite happily spend half the day standing while I work. If I need to sit, I now use a bar stool, meaning I never truly sit in a chair. After a few weeks I have noticed an improvement in my overall core stability, and while this may be a placebo, I find myself far more able to concentrate and focus.
As far as the Stand Desk itself, I could not be happier. It's sturdily built and the solid ply desktop (black) is fantastic to work on, with a very solid feel. The cable management tray is a huge bonus and has completely cleaned up the floor of cables – I have two monitors mounted to Ergotron arms, a desk lamp, wired keyboard and all the rest, there was a lot of cabling to deal with and the cable tray ate it up. Controls are simple and the ride/lower rate is fast enough so that it's not an issue. Overall, very happy wit the desk, so much so we ordered a second!”
