Tranzendesk 55" Dual Level Crank Standing Desk Reviews

4.7 Rating 23 Reviews
I was missing a good portion of the screws from the box because there was a hole in the plastic bag holding the screws and the box had handle holes, so I assume they fell out. I emailed customer service and explained my situation and they responded within about 12 hours saying that they had put a new set of screws in the mail for me, no charge. I received them today and successfully assembled the desk without much trouble (the instructions were pretty clear/helpful). This is only the first day I've used it, but so far it's great! Most of the weight of the desk comes from the tops of the desk, not the metal frame. That's neither good nor bad, just an observation that was opposite of what I had assumed from looking at the pictures.

I really like the stand-up desk! It was a great price and does what I expected. This was delivered well-packed, so I would say they listened to earlier reviews and improved the packaging so there was no damage in shipping. As other reviewers mentioned, the directions for assembly can be improved; no clear delineation on which screws to use where so we had to take it apart and do it correctly the second time. One area of improvement, the crank handle pulls out of it's housing. It would be nice if this were secured so I didn't keep pulling it off, and better yet, if you could slide it back under the desk when you aren't using it.

The Tranzendesk standing desk is exactly what I had been searching for in an office desk. It had to have a full-width monitor riser, a large & wide desktop. And it had to be sturdy and very strong (not flimsy cardboard and MDF supports). This would have been five stars, but there were several issues with the desk parts and the instruction manual. The front brace doesn't fit - it's too short. The desk is appears to be fully functional without the brace - but I would still like a complete desk. And the desk crank assembly was not attached to the desk, and there is no way to do so. And there's no reference or parts for installing it. While the desk is what I wanted, what I received is not what was advertised. Nor what I paid for. The desk is supposed to be complete - no missing or uninstalled parts. And it's supposed to be fully functional. It's not - I have to hold the tube for the crank assembly with one hand while I turn the crank gingerly with the other.

I have had this desk for less than a week, but it's definitely served its purpose. The adjustment between sitting and standing is so easy. I have reviewed desks for a while before deciding to buy this one. The cost, the height, and the two tier style top was the best options I could find, at the best price possible. Beware the the instructions for assembly don't seem to match up with the proper sizes of the screws. The base and legs appear to assemble using the longest screws available (per pictures) but these are actually for the last step of attaching the desktop to the frame instead. This was a bit frustrating, but I quickly got passed this and was using my desk within the hour. I'd definitely recommend this desk, but be sure your current chair is tall enough for the lowest setting... I now have to have perfect posture when sitting (which isn't a bad thing, but I like a little slouch every now and then).

My Tranzendesk was the best purchase that I made for my home office! I love the sit/stand option and it's nice that my kitchen counter can remain clutter free without multiple boxes on top of each other that my laptop would sit on.
