People tend to think of this ask in binary terms, sit or stand. However, I think you should consider it a custom desk in that you can put it at just the right height for you while you're sitting. I love that you can customize the height to what is most comfortable to your arms resting against the keyboard, Additionally, as I'm sitting in front of multiple monitors all day, I adjust it from time to time so that my neck isn't always in the same position.
I bought the hand crank model because it's less likely to run into long-term issues as an electric model. Honestly, it's so simple and smooth that I don't regret it.
Concerns I had going in: A) Will it wobble? The answer has been no. It's a very firm desk, even when raising or lowering. B) Would I regret not buying the electric model? After 6 mos, not at all. C) Will the support crossbar hit me in the shins or prevent leg movement? Not at all, and I'm a bit over 6ft.
One thing to note: If you're using equipment that creates a lot of heat underneath, like my laptop, put something underneath it so as not to potentially damage the desk surface. (I noticed slight imperfections happening, so made the simple adjustment. Not a big deal.)
I tend to over-analyze every purchase I make and this desk was no different. So far, I absolutely love its flexibility. I've even adjusted the monitor shelf a couple of times to find just the right spot. Pricewise, I'm also very happy.”
“I received by desk with Clamp on Shelf and Drawer and assembled it but realized there wasn't a drawer. I called Stand Steady customer support and they replied the drawer ships separately. It arrived as they said but maybe Stand Steady should indicate this when it is ordered or if it is stated, make it clearer. Other than that, I'm very happy with the purchase.”
