“Subjectively, one feels better about play if the racquet in hand is weighted and proportioned in a way which makes it feel comfortable to wield and effective in action. That is the case with with the Ashaway Superlight 79SQ. I'm aware of its potential fragility since I've broken more than a few varieties (Ashaway or not) in the past but the same could be said of those, allegedly, more robust models. Survival prospects depend more on keeping the newcomer away from clashes with clumsy partners or resisting the urge to strike it against blameless surfaces during bouts of frustration. A good racquet will slip from the conscious mind and become almost imperceptible. It will allow one to attack and defend freely and engage in testing rallies without being a source of distraction or, bringing itself to one's attention by being, in any aspect, too unsuited. As Hamlet might have said: 'Aye, the play's the thing!'”
