“I bought this unit to help support NZ made and while the unit itself is strong (I fully expect it would easily last the 30 year warranty period), the powder coating is very easy to scratch off... there were a couple of scratches on it straight out of the box and a few more added during the installation process. The wire line is great in theory but not good in practice. It was a real pain to tie in, and it is causing small holes in some clothing as well as new, expensive cotton sheets, so am going to have to change the steel line for normal clothesline as the line it comes with is just too rough on my clothes. I just have to hope that the holes to thread line through don't end up cutting normal clothesline.
I really hope that Swiftdry finds a way to add a winding option as having to leave the unit at a fixed height isn't that great when you're short, would be a lot better if you could wind the unit up higher once you've hung washing out so it could catch the breeze better on light wind days.
All in all, a good sturdy rotary clothesline that will last many yearsâ¶, but improvements could be made.”
