I liked that he is able to carry the tablet around without worrying that he could possibly drop and break it.

I bought this for my daughters new 10" Fire Tablet. It fits fine and if it was for an adults tablet, I would say it would probably be ok. There were 2 issues for the Fire though. #1: the power button happens to be on the end where there is a thick pad from this case. So while the corners are well-protected, its a bummer to have this button hidden because the power button is used so much. #2: the protection in the middle of the sides is slim to none. In the pictures it looks like a solid piece of rubber all the way down but because they had to leave a space open for the power cord, they use two strips of rubber. The rubber is too flimsy and stretchy there and doesnt provide enough protection for a childs tablet. All it would take is one drop on the side and the tablet would be toast. I had to return.
