“There is a lot of really amazing helpful information.
Unfortunately the SITBACK did not work for us. It actually made him wake up even more and was harder to put him back to sleep. My husband and I lost a lot of sleep in months 3-4. I do appreciate the information on wake window and day time sleep and everything else.
One thing that was successful for us was the night weaning of feeds. We got him down to 1 feed per night after 5 hours from last but he was still waking up every 2-3 hours and the longest stretch we ever got was 5 hours and it was only ever the first stretch.
After he would wake up every 1-2 hours. We were never able to move down the scale toward independent sleep we’d constantly take steps backward.
We did try very hard
Went through the troubleshooting checklist meticulously.
Made sure room was always around 70 degrees
Bought black on curtains with suction cups to make room truly black out.
Never any reflux issues
Breastfed during the day at least 7 times and a 6 oz bottle before bed to make sure sufficient calories were given during day time.
Stretched and played with wake windows before to try to ensure he was tired and never went over the suggested daytime sleep hours.
Doctor said he was gaining sufficient weight and was healthy percentiles in all categories.
He is very happy and active not fussy at all during the day despite rough nights if broken sleep.
We tried focusing on first nap of the day as suggested and only ever got 20 minutes before having to rescue the nap over a 2 month span. It never improved
He just is a finicky baby with sleep but there is still a lot of helpful information!”
“I was lost with what to do with my baby’s false starts at night. He went to sleep no problem and woke up 45 minutes later every single night. This program gave me guidelines of what to do so I could help my baby learn to go back to sleep independently. Now I’m a proud mama of a 4 and a half month old who goes down in his crib wide awake and puts himself to sleep. He also stays asleep now for 12 hours each night!”
