I think this type of resource is probably helpful for some, but speaking for myself, this level of detail is anxiety-provoking. When I start to follow this kind of advice, I find myself becoming obsessive over every detail, like minutes of breastfeeding, time of wake window, which step to use when, and so on. I find myself becoming anxious and enjoying the uniqueness of my baby less. I made that mistake with my first child, and now that I have a second, I don’t want to make it again. I also feel like these strategies end up encouraging parents to spend more money than be necessary for healthy baby sleep. It kind of preys on new parents especially because they feel like if they don’t have the right products, they won’t be successful parents

I purchased the Navigating Months 3 & 4 for my second daughter mainly because I couldn't remember anything from my first daughter! We started implementing the techniques shortly after she turned 3 months and now at 4 1/2 months she takes a dream feed at 10:30ish and sleeps until almost 7am!

I've relied on the takingcarababies website for a lot of information, I was really hopeful that this sleeping guide would be equally as useful but it fell a bit short. I think the guide didn't work well for us because it has no help if you're already using a smart bassinet/crib (snoo, cradlewise, etc), which naturally has some of these principles built in (like increasing white noise, adding rocking, etc). Sadly the guide itself only outlined an approach to a crying baby, which we did without having someone break it down into steps. Overall, the guide was well laid out and direct, just didnt contain any useful tips for our situation.

I recommend taking Cara babies to anyone I know that is pregnant. The newborn class was life changing in just getting an understanding for infant schedules/behaviors and getting baby to sleep so well from the first day home from the hospital. We’ve since purchased the 3&4 month guide which has been the perfect transition guide in navigating month 3&4.

This guide helped me teach my 3 month old how to become an independent sleeper, which I believe has helped us through the dreaded 4 month regression. It was easy to follow, and quickly effective. 10/10, I recommend any parent use it!

Taking Cara Babies is the reason my kids are great sleepers. My almost 3 year old is an AMAZING sleeper and when he wakes up I know it is because he is likely not feeling well which is so helpful as a mama. I also use Taking Cara Babies newborn and 3 to 4 months package for my now 4 month old who sleeps 10 hours a night with very little intervention in between. What I love most of these guides/ videos are how Cara talks so in depth about their developmental needs/ stages. It has really helped me rationalize as a mom what I can and cannot control when it comes to their nighttime sleep and naps. I plan to buy the 5 to 24 month soon!

I started this guide just as my daughter was approaching the 3 month mark and I must say it has worked wonders for our family!! Our daughter fell into a great routine of sleeping through the night within about 2 weeks of starting the guide. I find it extremely helpful to have such a detailed guide as my husband and I navigate parenthood with our first child. I wish I had purchased the newborn guide and will be reccommending it to each of my friends!
