About Tea Life:

Hello! My name's Toby and while I've always been a tea lover, I never really thought about the benefits and healing powers of herbal tea before a certain time in my life where I was going through some stress and anxiety.
This is a short story about my tea life.

I came across Valerian root tea and noticed one of the benefits listed was 'helping stress and anxiety' so I thought why not? It actually did help, and became my first go to solution for when I was feeling stressed.

Since then I have had to go back to that single shop to order it, as it's difficult to find. Sometimes it was sold out, sometimes I was too busy to make the trip, but overall I was just thinking 'why isn't this awesome drink more readily available'?

So I decided to do something about that. I researched the benefits of other herbal tea, as I was curious to see what else was out there and was astonished to learn just how useful and powerful they are. Over time, I realised they really are natures medicine.

This website has been designed to educate, and provide easy access across Australia to a huge range of Organic Herbal tea, free of pesticides and other impurities.

Apart from herbal tea, I have also stocked the best chai, exotic, and other health related blends I could find within Australia. If it's fresh, interesting and tastes great - I'll get it in.

Feel free to contact me at any time with any questions or feedback you may have. I'd love to hear from you.

- Toby Gospodarczyk

Further to my review of the White Horehound Tea, I did try it with Hibiscus Tea and this softens the blow quite a lot and this is one of my most favorite teas now, everyone should try White Horehound Tea and Hibiscus Tea together, both steep for 5 minutes and you can still taste a bit of bitterness but there is a sweeter afterburner taste, you have that amazing Hibiscus Tea color in the cup with all the health goodness of both teas, stick the leaves in the same teabag and away you go, just enjoy!! Highly recommended!

The smell does not prepare you for the taste of this tea and does not have that much of a flavour as such but when the afterburner kicks in it is just like you have had a sip of a very strong bitter spirit or beer or even a very bitter grapefruit except there is no citrus taste. It leaves a bit of a burning effect in your mouth. I love it with every sip but it is too early to experience the health benefits at this stage. I am used to drinking strong bitter spirits or beers and take a daily dose of Swedish Bitters Herbal Tonic which is far more bitter than this White Horehound Tea. It may not be to everyone's liking or taste buds and would probably be best mixed with another tea, perhaps Hibiscus Tea would suit as the steeping time is the same, I must give that a try and see if it still kicks like a mule only with a sweeter after burn!!! Still and all, I can highly recommend this White Horehound Tea and I can feel it doing me good because anything bitter is good for your health, but then, maybe I am just a little bit crazy too!!!

I'm struggling a little with this tea in terms of taste. It's interesting that the best teas for anxiety have 'challenging' tastes - I'm looking at you, Valerian Root. That said, I have noticed a marked improvement in at least the hour following a cup of this tea, so I feel that it does what it says on the bag. I'm trying to blend it with other teas that don't challenge the tastebuds so much. I'm not a fan of honey in tea, though it may come to that. If you struggle with the flavour, you're not alone but it's worth persevering. I just had a cup and I feel much better than I have all day so far.

Hi Amelia, yes it is funny with some of the anxiety teas that the taste isn't so great - with the exception of Chamomile but that's a fairly mild one. You might want to try blending with Damiana, but it might not mask the taste too much unfortuantely.

Sixty years ago I remember my Dad creating a brew made from Horehound. Today, I suffer from a lung condition known as COPD and I am interested to see if I get some relief from the associated coughing but that is something I have yet to discover. The memory of the unique flavour from the past which I am sharing with my older brother is what gives me the initial euphoria but I am confident that the health benefits from this tea will be the ultimate gain.
