“Camping adventure turned weird stay in stranger's backyard.
Listing is advertised as a "campground" with goats, upon arriving we pulled into a driveway a realized we paid $170 to stay in a backyard (not far from the owner occupied home). Never saw the goats.
The grounds were unkept as if guests were not arriving. Only a mowed path in the grass for walking to and from. Tent was a very cool set up but many dead bugs- a little vacuum could go a long way.
Thankful for the pool since we arrived during a heat wave. Again, very unkept grounds- towels, pool toys and old furniture surrounding area.
Tent and set up had some great ammenities that were not mentioned in the listing- would have been helpful when packing! Provided were: propane stove, trash, water jug and water and camping lights.
Overall we made the most of it and still enjoyed some laughs but we felt mislead and overcharged!! Might be better suited for hip camp vs air bnb.”

“This place was amazing! The host was extremely hospitable and made sure we had everything we needed and more. It was so close to downtown Great Barrington and to a nice swimming pond as well. I would definitely recommend staying here!”
“Just to start off, the owners were very nice and accommodating so I hate to leave such a low review. However tentrr was extremely overpriced for the experience.
We got to the tent, it was raining which was fine, uncontrollable. When we got inside the tent we noticed the tent had open floor boards where bugs could easily slip through. I'm use to camping in a tent where the only possibility of bugs entering is through opening or closing the tent itself. There were cob webs up near the entrance inside the tent, we almost left but it was a far drive and was super expensive so we stayed. There was an open hole (like the tent wasn't set up right or shifted) right above the bed. We had leaking while trying to sleep due to the rain. There was also supposed to be a wood stove or propane heater inside the tent but there wasn't one, I believe we figured out the day after it was outside the tent just not attached. It got pretty chilly bc of the rain.
The second night we barely slept because caterpillars kept falling on us and there were huge bugs getting inside the tent. We had sprayed bug spray and had two citronella candles going but with the open floor boards and the hole atop the tent we had no chance. The caterpillars were gypsy moths which can cause skin rashes if you touch them. The concerning pests were the numerous spiders which I couldn't tell if they were poisonous or not. Now I understand camping there will be bugs but there shouldn't be more bugs inside the tent then outside. I will say I didn't have many issues with mosquitos which was good. It was convenient to have the toilet in the tent.
The location was nice, I loved the goats and being able to play with them was a highlight of the trip. The pool was clean and beautiful and it was nice to have access to a shower and bathroom. The town was also quaint but I was thinking the location was going to be set more away from society. At night you could hear cars from the road and it made it very obvious you were in someone's backyard. The property was beautiful though and like I said the owners were kind, even letting us use their barrel to throw out our trash.
For the price of a hotel though I expected to not have to worry about bugs falling on us at night and wanted a bit more seclusion. I would have been more comfortable at a campsite with my own tent paying way less. We went in hoping to be refreshed from a get away and left feeling exhausted and drained.”
“I went for a weekend get away with my boyfriend and we had a blast. The host was extremely welcoming and even recommended a few places for us to go explore and eat. The goats and bunny are a huge plus, the pool was cool and refreshing. We would book again.”
“A wonderful last minute camping trip! Kathy was extremely helpful both in communication and helping me out with a few items that I didn’t have. It was just what I needed to unwind and have some me time”
