Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“I would not recommend. Customer Service number provided only answered 3 out of 4 calls and the lady hung up on me after requesting directions to park. The grill was broken and had to bottom. The Sirens went off 3 times during the night and it is very loud. The tent itself is not as advertised and not worth the money. The tents are very close together so you can hear everything from both sides and the trail. No privacy. The only response I got was from the State Park Manager who was very pleasant and great communicator.”
“I loved my stay here but there are some things that everyone should be aware of:
- The directions are confusing so you should get them from the owner as soon as possible. Take the dirt road all the way to the parking lot by the river. Most tents follow the river towards the dam. It's a fair walk from the parking lot so be prepared to carry your gear to the tent site.
- Bedding is not provided. I've glamped in the past where bedding is provided, but this glamping does not. I only had a carry on bag so bedding wasn't much of an option and I may have reconsidered the location because of it.
- A gas heater is inside the tent and firewood is not provided.
Otherwise, the location is remote and beautiful. I enjoyed being far from the busy roads with the peace and quiet of the birds and the water. There is a train that sometimes passes through the area as well.”
“Great spot to camp! Not a long walk to the tent. Could have been a little cleaner & the cabinet could have been cleaned out. All in all a great stay! Great communication & check in process!”
“The tent was clean. All items promised were provided. Scenery was amazing. Was quiet for the most part, we slept like rocks. It was a beautiful experience.”
“We had a great time right on the New River at Tentrr site D. Be aware that the Tentrr sites are about a ten minute drive from the lodge and down a very steep, narrow gravel road.”
“I came here with my sister for a Labor Day weekend getaway and we so enjoyed our time! Tentrr gives you all the benefit of being outside and camping but without “roughing it” too much. We still had a comfortable night’s sleep and the ability to cook decent food during our 2 night stay. FYI you will not be too far from civilization, there are several restaurants and a Walgreens about 15 minutes away from the tent sites.
**As soon as you receive a message from the site manager, ask for a picture of the park map for your reference.** The currently listed address may not direct you to the correct spot, and service can be hard to maintain as you drive 2 miles down the gravel road from the main road to the river.
If you are assigned tent site letters B-I, pack light or be prepared to walk 5-10 minutes down the path from the parking lot to your tent site. You will also hear the loud train whistle as they run through the railroad tracks in the park during the day and night.
Once you are at the tent site, many of your basic camping needs are included such as a water cooler jug, camp shower bag, fire pit (firewood not included, but available from site manager for $9/bundle), picnic table with attached food prep table, and of course everything inside of the tent (very accurate to the video descriptions). The site manager also made us aware that a park ranger walks the path at night, which I appreciated knowing.
Overall a great stay! I’d love to see more setups like this in parks across the country!!”
