“This site is fantastic!
Trails everywhere to hike, the pond was fantastic, seen a blue herring fly across the mist above the pond early one morning.. Majestic
The camp keeper was incredible very friendly very knowledgeable and helpful in every way..
Would highly recommend!
Just be sure to come with four-wheel drive.. this location is not for someone with a Corvette or Minivan.. this site is very much in nature.”
“My husband, our dog and I had a great time at Ponderosa Pond. Brent was an amazing host; he gave us tips and directions, was very responsive to texts/emails and had a lot of amenities not listed on Tentrr. The site was beautiful, the perfect secluded getaway we were looking for. There was a nice large canopy setup so we had plenty of shade and fishing in the pond was really fun (we were surprised by the size of a couple bass!]. Overall we’d definitely recommend Ponderosa Pond and are already looking for a return trip. Thanks Brent, we had a lovely time!”
“Had a great time despite the rain the first two days. Beautiful site. Brent was very attentive without being intrusive. He is also very knowledgeable about plants and trees. What I like best about this site in comparison to a couple others we stayed at is the tent has a propane heater instead of a wood burning heater. The propane is much safer and it didn't take much to heat the tent. Also, this tent did not have bunk beds. This we discovered, we prefer. No hitting our heads! Plus it gave the tent a roomier feel. The pond is definitely a huge plus. My husband grabbed his fishing rod every chance he had. I definitely wouldn't try taking a sedan back the long dirt road to this site. I used my mini-van and it was rough on it. We liked this place so much we already booked another trip and this time we will take the pickup truck.”
“We enjoyed our stay at Homer Pond. Brent was the best campkeeper, attentive and made sure we had everything we would need. We went at height of the fall foliage and the drive in was spectacular. The road back to site was a little rough for a small car. I would suggest a truck or SUV. The propane heater in the tent kept us warm all night. Temps dropped into the mid 30s, but we stayed toasty. My husband, dog and I enjoyed doing nothing but tending to the fire and walks around the stunning property! Thank you Brent for sharing your beautiful property with us!”
“Homer Pond was perfect for my family this past weekend. I was the only one that wanted to go camping and had to drag everyone there. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by Brett's two dogs. My dog loving son was in heaven because one never left our sides. My other son caught the biggest bass he's ever seen. Both boys enjoyed the paddle boats on the pond. My partner very much appreciated the nice mattress in the tent, the sink, and flushable outhouse. And best of all, I had a request to come back again soon.”
“This place is MAGIC!! Do not hesitate to book!
First off, disregard Brent's first review. Tentrr accidentally booked him when his tent wasn't even built yet. We were his first booking and everything couldn't be more perfect. The tent area is GORGEOUS. The tent door opens up to a view of the pond, which is about 100' away from the tent and has a row boat and a paddle boat. Around the other side of the pond is a rustic, basic camp kitchen with cold water and electric. There's a flush toilet "outhouse" just beyond the kitchen so we were able to avoid using the Tentrr Loo the whole weekend.
Brent was a perfect host too! He had mountains of free firewood at our disposal. He also checked checked in via text regularly but also gave us plenty of privacy as a couple to do our own thing which was perfect. His entire property is a 450 acre forest with loads of trails. He hooked us up with a map and we had a blast adventuring through the wilderness.
Oh and how did his listing forget to mention he had a HOT TUB!?! Right next to the pond and kitchen is a giant stainless steel therapeutic tub that's heated by a wood fired stove. It's old school charming, no jets, no electric, just a massive tub of hot water to soak in. It took Brent all day of loading wood into the stove to heat the tub for us, but we were so thrilled that he did. After a long day of hiking we were in HEAVEN. It was the perfect temp for our achey bodies and he even lit a couple of tiki torches next to the tub to create a lovely ambiance.
Again, Brent was such a lovely, attentive host, really trying to anticipate all our needs, and he did so without missing a beat. The tent was perfect (we were plenty warm enough in 30 degree nighttime fall temperature), the site was gorgeous. Oh and we also got to adopt two sweetheart dogs named Daisy and Duke for the weekend. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect weekend get away. We will be back! Thank you Brent!!”
