“We had a really great time at this campsite! It is private without being secluded and clean without feeling sterile. The view of the lake is great!
Of all 3 tentrrs in this park, this one is closest to the parking lot and park bathrooms. It's really only a 4 minute walk on double-track, so it's not exactly like you are walking deep in the woods. Plus it's downhill when you are walking in.
On a late summer Saturday night, we could absolutely hear a few groups of people having fun on the lake, so keep that in mind if you are looking for a quiet experience. That being said, it was not particularly disruptive.”
“Did a beautiful weekend trip at Lake Taghkanic, TentRR site C. I paid nearly what I would pay to stay in a nice hotel for 2 nights… pros: good quality and spacy tent in a great location. Cons: the area was not mowed or weedwhacked and the grass and weeds were as high as our knees. It’s tick season. Second, they never let us know that the walk from the car was nearly .25 miles and hilly - you are not permitted to even pull up your car to the site to unload. For these prices, that’s ridiculous. Next, they said there was an “outdoor shower”. There is not. A camping shower bag is not an outdoor shower and this seemed intentionally misleading. Next, the composting toilet had no bags available so it was useless. The other misleading part of the listing is that it says the site has lake access— it really doesn’t without a dangerous entry. Finally, they said that a water source was nearby and accessible— false, it is in the parking area. To be paying so much, you should get way more.”
Hey there, thanks for your feedback here. Without honest reviews like yours, we wouldn't know where to improve. We are very sorry to hear that you had a less-than-ideal stay at one of our campsites. Since your review, we've gotten in touch with the host at this particular site and addressed some of your concerns. The surrounding areas have since been landscaped, and loo bags are now plentiful on site. Again, we apologize for the situation that occurred, but hope to see you out camping with us again soon!
