“It was a really nice experience. I would definitely recommend going. So much to do in the area. Great fishing spots near by. Fit me my Husband, my daughter, and our large dog (and his dog bed) inside without feeling cramped. We're hoping to come back soon.”

“We stayed at the Site E (next to the Fishing Haven Site D) because Tentrr screwed up our original reservation and double-booked our spot. Thankfully the local Tentrr rep was able to save the trip and found Site E available and reserved it for us. Some things to keep in mind: Site E is exposed to the sun almost all day, from sunrise to sunset. If you have an aversion to direct sun, bring some sort of shade. The site itself was clean, but it's showing its age. We noticed other Tentrr spots in the woods - they all look horribly dirty on the outside due to the amount of forest leaves and debris that falls on them. They're stained and pretty old looking, even though they are likely not much older than the one we stayed in. Queen bed is nice, it's foam and comfortable (to us), and it's wrapped in a plastic weather-proof (AND INSECT-PROOF *COUGH* BEDBUGS *COUGH*) enclosure, which is nice. Fire pit was good - we cooked over the grate and the outside cabinet to store things inside was handy. Site is 100% rustic, no running water nearby, though there was one (1) single porta-john servicing at least 3-4 Tentrr sites, so there's that. It was clean, though. There is no bath houses and no restrooms in the entire Highland Park Rec area except for the one that was near us (about a 10 minute walk away); the men's side has 1 urinal and 1 toilet, with 2 sinks (not sure about women's). Also, it is closed until late morning (usually after 9 AM) and closes WAAAAAY before sundown. Bring lots of bottled water and gallons of water to do your cleaning, etc. There are no showers in the entire Rec area. On the topic of direct sunlight, I did notice that Fishing Haven Site D tends to stay in the shade a little longer in the morning and much earlier in the evening, but even that one was exposed. So your choices are: lots of sun and slightly cleaner (newer) looking tents on the outside, or in the woods/under trees with shade but the tents look like a 20 year old homeless camp settlement on the outside. Would I camp here again? Perhaps. I may try Tentrr somewhere else if double-booking guests isn't a common issue. Ultimately our stay worked out, but for a brief period of time we were terrified that our whole trip was ruined. So... keep that in mind.”

“This particular site was great because of the space away from neighbors. Not trying to be antisocial, but it gets old being RIGHT next to someone else while camping. The tent made me feel like I was in a Civil War camp, which I loved! And the bed was pretty comfortable for an already set up camp site. They should probably use a more "camp" like fire pit. The one that is available is one made for a small home and not to be used as heavily as we used it. Not only cooking our food but using cast iron skillets and pot. Not really a complaint here. It still worked perfectly. It just probably won't last as long as a real camp fire pit would last. The lack of running water and a proper gray water disposal site was inconvenient. After washing dishes there wasn't an appropriate place to dump the soapy gray water which is a bit of an environmental concern. Not having any running water (no water taps nearby) made hand washing and dishwashing a challenge. There are public bathrooms to use, they close when the park closes. But there are porta johns throughout the campsite. Lisa was very friendly and had a great deal of knowledge of activites and such around the rec area. As I've said in the title, we will be going there again. We fell in love with it and it felt great to feel like we were really away from everything.”

“The tent is huge and clean, the queen sized bed is very comfortable and clean. Our caretaker was friendly and took good care of the site and of us. The outdoor furniture is well made and attractive. I'm actually afraid of this secret getting out and reservations harder to come by. Loved it!”
