“We had such an amazing time at The Other Place! Paul was extremely accommodating to our requests and very generous with firewood, which was a huge perk because we had the fire burning all weekend! The star visibility here is absolutely incredible, and we were easily able to spot several planets with our telescope. My favorite thing about the site was how few bugs there were. Did not see a single mosquito or tick all weekend! We had a little trouble getting to the site - pay attention to Paul's directions because it's easy to go too far and get lost on a hunting ground. Also, the canvas tent has a queen bed, not a bunk bed. But otherwise, everything was exactly as described. The canvas tent kept us dry through hard rain. The toilet set up was very workable. There is even a spot of cell service at the site itself which was nice. And the location even has a nice bar set up that the pictures don't do justice. Thank you, Paul!”
“We arrived in the dark, the dome tent was set up for us, firewood was ready to go, there was a canopy over the table and benches, trash and recycling cans right on site, loo was clean, private space provided for loo / sun shower far enough away from the site. We didn't find the tiki torch fluid and the grill brush until we were leaving (night stand on right of bed), but no big deal. About 20 minutes to town with a few grocery stores and a Walmart. Camp Keeper was attentive to text messages, refilled our water for us, easy to work with.”
“The site was quiet and secluded. Just what we were looking for. Paul greeted us when we got there, Supplied us with ample fire wood and then left us to enjoy our get away. The shaded bar area was perfect to shelter the cooler and prepare food. I would suggest bringing your own fire pit grille as the one provided was a little warped. Overall great get away while still social distancing.”
“The camp keeper was very welcoming and kind. The site was clean and neat, barely any bugs in the tent except for at night there were more bugs but tolerable. There is a lot of land around the tentrr so it’s very private and peaceful. Will definitely be coming back to this site! Thanks Paul.”
“If you're looking for a quiet place to relax and stargaze, this is an excellent place to go. The campsite is on high ground, reasonably flat and dry. It was very sunny, we brought a little pop up to hang out under and we were glad for it since we really just stayed in camp the entire weekend and lazed around.
There had been quite a lot of rain earlier and getting up the path to the campsite was a bit more than my little Honda Fit was built for. The campkeeper was awesome. He was able to pull me out of the mud and up the hill. Very pleasant and good-natured about it.”
