Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“This is one of my favorite hiking spots, and I loved going to sleep and waking up by the lake. The location is a little further away than the other two Tentrr spots, about a 5 minute walk from the car park, which makes it quieter than Site A, and the tents are large, with enough room to fit my husband, myself, and my child comfortably, plus two friends in the other tent. My only complaint is that there was a LOT of trash around campsite, including broken glass (and an old pair of jeans in one of the tents).”
“It was truly a beautiful place! However, there are combination lock codes needed to get into the tents as well as the driveway gate which were never mentioned to me and once provided, they were the wrong codes. It took me four hours to get into my tents after arrival at the site. Also, the heaters did not work during a very cold night which prompted me to cut my trip short by one night. Finally, my host never replied my texts. With all of this, I will still use Tentrr again hoping for better communication.”
“Silver Mine Lake is beautiful. Tentrr is a great concept with a flawed execution. Wrong number for the camp-keeper on the email confirmation. Seemingly very little correlation between what Tentrr sells to customers on the website vs. the actual facts on the ground at the campsite. With no cell service there is very little room for error at this campsite. Tucked Away C is very far from the parking lot and you will have to carry all of your gear in and out. The Tentrr infrastructure has key design flaws. As mentioned in the other reviews, the floor of the tent platform has gaps in it so bugs that can't get through the mosquito netting on the tent can just come through the floor on a blade of grass that's poking through. A rug or a ground cloth would go a long way here but that's just another extra thing you would have to bring out there. The Adirondack chairs are seemingly a great amenity until you realize that they were designed to be cheaply built rather than to be comfortable. Any normal good Adirondack chair has a curved back whereas the Tentrr chairs have flat backs. This makes any extended time in the chair turn into back pain for the whole group. Make sure you bring a cushion for your back and a pillow for your head. More to add to your list to carry from the parking lot. All in all you are paying for the privilege to spend the night at a nice location, but do not expect a convenient or comfortable time without a lot of extra planning and carrying.”
“Great facility. Well maintained. The lake is beautiful and the tents are very clean and comfortable. The reception is very spotty so make sure to have all the directions and instructions downloaded before you get there.”
Thank you for your review and for making us aware of the need for landscaping at the tent site. We conveyed your feedback to the team at Harriman State Park and the campsite has been mowed.
“We had a nice 2 night stay in Harriman state park. The tent is brand new and other than the weeds sprouting through the floorboards very comfortable. The mattress was great and we enjoyed watching the fireflies at night through the tent roof and the full moon over the lake. The grounds around the tent had some broken bottles and debris. We expected someone to meet us at some point but that didn’t happen. There were campers nearby with their own tents. They weren’t loud but sound travels. We thought it would be only nature. Also the first night a car must have arrived in the parking lot and the music blasted for hours. Not Tentrr’s fault. Because cell service is spotty I especially thought we’d be greeted and shown the ropes. We never found the tool needed to fill up the 5 gallon water jug provided. We brought enough water. There were no grilling utensils as promised. All in all I still loved it and would do again at another location.”
