This is a great site. Very far walk with stairs ect. Other wise there is a side path (they should make car accessible) we did bring a cart to load our items I would suggest the same to anyone else. Bees and flys were very prevalent at site C. This over all was an amazing space. It’s like a little peninsula. Amazing at night so calm. There is a noise early am every day but we didn’t mind much.

I biked from Rochester along the canal to this site after work, spent the night, and biked back early the next morning. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Pros: - Julieanne, the Campkeeper, was very communicative and accommodating, especially considering she was still in training and I was the very first person to stay at this site! Thank you Julianne! - The site was well equipped and had everything you needed, even for a much longer stay with more people. It got down into the 40s at night and the canvas tent kept me warm. I did not need to use the propane heater but was glad it was available. - Love that they allow fires and include a firepit and grill. I don't think there was a separate charcoal grill which I thought there would be but it was not a big deal for me. - Great location and views along the canal. Accessible but felt private. Very easy to bike to. Cons: - I wish this location had single tents available. I stayed as a single person at one of the double sites, which includes two canvas tents plus two dome tents that you can set up on your own. It was a reasonable price with a coupon code, but I would not stay in a double again by myself or with one other person, and realistically if I'm biking along the canal I won't be with a big enough group to justify a double site. I would be much more likely to return if they had singles here. - I also wish linens were an option at this site. I also packed linens on my bike, but not a full queen set to save space and weight. It would have been much more comfortable and convenient from a biking perspective if they provided linens. - The price is pretty expensive compared to other options. From my opinion it is only cost effective if you are traveling with four or more people. - I also wish they provided firewood. I packed my own in but it was a pain and I only had enough logs for about an hour of fire. There is a convenience store across the street but they sell tiny bundles that are fairly expensive, and it would be inconvenient to take it to your site if you arrive by bike because it's about a half mile walk each way. - It seemed like Tentrr did not communicate to Julieanne (Campkeeper) in advance that I would be staying there. I emailed Tentrr customer service to get her contact info because it was not listed in my confirmation email. She rolled with the punches and accommodated my stay which I really appreciated, but it seems like as an early site there are some kinks to work out. I would highly recommend checking in with the Campkeeper a few days in advance, and emailing/calling Tentrr customer service if contact info is not provided in the confirmation email. Tips: - If you need to fill your own water, there is a hose connection at the lockhouse where Julieanne filled up the 5-gal container. - There are public bathrooms on the south side of the park, but they are about a half mile from this side. - I chose this site because it looks like the most secluded, but in fact I think Site D would be more secluded based on the foliage around. - A short section of the canal trail immediately west of this park is currently closed. There is a detour that takes both bike and ped traffic on the side of Route 31.

Scott - thanks for the very thorough review of your stay! Your review was shared with the Tentrr team and we have just converted Site C into a "Single" priced at $89/night. We thought you made a good point about offering an option for single or 2-person groups at this location. Also, we do apologize for the CampGuide communication matters - your stay coincided with the onbarding of our team at that location. Check-in is operating smoothly now and we are sorry if it created any inconvenience during your time with us. We hope to host you at another Tentrr stay in the future!
