“This place is perfect for anyone wanting to spend some time outdoors. It is perched on a hilltop with a great view of the rolling mountains and sunset. You feel the perfect amount of in the wilderness while not being remote. 10/10 would recommend it (I went with my girlfriend and we both agree this spot was great)”
“It's a beautiful spot. The tent and picnic table have pretty views and in the early morning you see mist in the valley. There's a large meadow directly behind the site and behind that is a field of wild flowers, frequented by birds and butterflies. This was my second choice, so all turned out well, but I discovered that TentR hosts have three days to confirm bookings. So, for my initial choice I heard nothing for three days and when I called the company they said the booking had been voided. Fortunately I was able to book Piney Woods and got immediate confirmation.”
“Our weekend trip to the hilltop site was phenomenal. Even with the heavy rain pouring down at night, we were able to enjoy our time and relax during the day time. We had some nice shade at the campsite, and the view overlooking the valley was definitely a treat to wake up to each morning. The large open clearing on the southeast side allowed for sports/other activities and some nice flat ground to pitch a tent. The instructions for getting to the campsite were pretty clear and easy to follow.
My only point for feedback would be to have some sort of rainfly canopy setup over the picnic table. Fortunately, we had brought our own tarp that we ended up stringing up between two trees, and had moved the picnic table underneath it. But for paying $100/night, having some protection from the rain while sitting at the picnic table would definitely be a nice amenity to have.
Overall, this was an awesome trip to a great camping location.”
“The campsite at Piney Woods Hilltop Retreat was so beautiful! The owners put little touches like the light jars on the deck, the wood swing chair and the essentials we may have needed in the little kitchen cabinet near the cute wood picnic table. The view was incredible and their large field was terrific for star gazing at night. We would love to come back to this very spot sometime in the future! What a great experience!”
