Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“Site was clean and well maintained. Perfect spot right by the river. Couldn't have asked for a better view. We were lucky and had no neighbors during our stay. There was some noise from the road above as it is right below the boat ramp dock. Couple things to note to improve for the next time....The tent had a lock on it. I was not given the code beforehand and had to contact customer service at 7:30p when we arrived...I am just thankful we got ahold of someone. (On the third call) Second, the gps coordinates take you to a random spot at the enterance of the park. It wasn't too difficult to find our spot (Only so many next to the river) so I just used some common sense, but if I had arrived after dark, this would have been darn near impossible. Water container was provided, and when we inquired about where to fill at the resource center, they laughed at us and send Tentrr's are on their own. Luckily, this was also not difficult to find. They have spigets all over the park. Many wonderful memories were made here this weekend. Thanks for making an amazing space to enjoy some quality family time!”
“I know that the Tentrr setups are new at the park so it's understandable that there are going to have to be things to fix. The things that stick out are:
-We had a text and phone call on Friday before our arrival from a host saying they'd meet us to help us get set up. We never saw or heard from them after that.
-There was no propane tank hooked up to the heater. We had temps dip down into the 40's during our stay.
-The deck itself is poorly constructed. It looks like it's already bowing in the middle. The decking screws aren't recessed. And the stair stringer hanger isn't designed for stairs. It's designed for the joists. The joist hanger that is holding the stairs is held on with 2 screws. It's very obvious where screws and nails are supposed to go. It just looks like someone got either lazy with the construction or they rushed through this. If this deck was constructed this way, it's safe to say the others are probably the same.
-There was no sun shower present.
-The campsite had trash on the ground
-The spiders were really large inside the tent (Not your fault! It's an outdoors experience!!!)
The weather was good and hiking was pleasant. It was peaceful along the river. However, it wasn't worth the $79 a night. We left after 2 nights in order to take a shower in our own home. The campgrounds in the park have showers but you have to pay for them and they're typically pretty gross. We won't be considering another Tentrr unless obvious improvements are made.
I truly do hope that this becomes a successful program for the parks. Any opportunity for those who want to get outside but don't want to fully tent camp or own a camper is a good thing.”
Hey Aaron, thanks for your feedback here. Without honest reviews like yours, we wouldn't know where to improve.
We are very sorry to hear that you had a less-than-ideal stay at one of our campsites. Since your review, we've gotten in touch with our maintenance crew. I also put in a couple of maintenance requests to get the sun shower replaced and to have the deck looked over.
Hosts should always have active communication with campers to ensure a smooth experience. We have discussed this with the host and will discuss it with future hosts thoroughly.
Our campers are instructed to leave no trace when they check out and if they do, our hosts should make it appear untouched. We will reiterate this policy with our hosts to make sure this does not happen again.
Again, we apologize for the situation that occurred, but hope to see you out camping with us again soon!
Cheers!
The Tentrr Team
