“The property is lovely and offers a fantastic view, even from inside the tent. The camp keepers really put a lot of thought into what campers might need for a weekend. Jim was super accommodating, friendly and helpful - would stay there again.”
“Amazing location with very friendly hosts. Our family enjoyed the views and campsite. Debbie and Jim went out of there way to make a cozy place to ensure you have a good time.”
“Our first Tentrr experience! The campsite came exactly as listed with all amenities included, as stated in the posting. The site hosts were EXTREMELY hospitable and were available for our entire stay, helping us bring our luggage to and from the campsite via ATV vehicle (its a little bit of a walk uphill from the driveway to the site!). BIG PRO: The site itself has a million dollar view, which is not totally pictured in the site photos on the listing. So be prepared to be jaw dropped right away! The site is situated on a clearing backed up to a pine forest, perfect for star-gazing. Although the site is on the hosts farm land, it has a feeling of seclusion. There is tree cover between the hosts home and the tentrr site, so you don't feel like the hosts can see or hear you (key to a romantic camping getaway!). The tent was well kept and very clean. We cooked on site all but one night and had all the tools and equipment provided for us, that we could possibly need. Do not overpack! They really do provide it all! Theres a sweet little grocery store in Margaretsville, about a 15-20 minute drive from where the site is -- super convenient! Lots of hiking/cayaking/river swimming in the area. MINOR CON: the site hadn't been used in a little while, so the spiders had settled in (in a big way). We couldn't use the sun-shower stall because it was too overrun with insects -- so we opted to hang the water bag outside of it and shower without cover.
All in all - I highly recommend this site (and tentrr in general). It was the perfect nature getaway that we needed, with some comforts of home included!”
“We had a wonderful time at The Hollow. The photos depict it perfectly and we had everything we needed plus some (e.g. extra water, fire starters, blankets..). Debbie and Jim were friendly, welcoming hosts - they helped us get set up with the site and also recommended things to see and do in the area. We would absolutely go back!”
“We had a great time! The tent was well stocked, warm, and in a great location. As other reviewers noted it isn't incredibly remote - it's about 300 yards up the hill behind the camp keeper's house. This suited us well. The camp keepers were incredibly nice and checked in on us several times to make sure we had everything we needed. Would camp here again.”
“The campsite was even better than we hoped! The tent was stocked full of a ton of extras (silverware, chairs, flash lights, water, etc) The views were spectacular and the hiking in the area was really great. We loved it and hope to be back soon!”
“We were disappointed with the location of the campsite. We thought it was going to be more isolated and remote, not in the back yard of someone's home. The owners were very friendly and hospitable! The tent was well-equipped with camping supplies and materials.”
“We had a wonderful time at the Hollow, the only downside was that we didn't stay for longer.
James and Debbie were incredible hosts, even through my many questions and late night arrival, they were not only accommodating and informative, but made us feel so comfortable and treated us so kindly. We were inspired by their property and their life in the woods.
The setting is wonderful, a great balance between woods, short grass, meadows, the beautiful pond and trees that block their house. The tent was located up on a hill with a beautiful view, it was nicely decorated and it had everything we needed.
The kitchenette was stocked with a grill for the firepit, utensils, dishes, mugs and foil.
The bed and linens were comfortable, and the hammock was amazing.
The built a cute outhouse which makes it all much more comfortable.
They provided a shower tent but we wanted to shower in the open so they moved the bag for us, which was perfect.
We arrived (late) to a welcoming burning fire and a starry night.
We got to see the sunrise the first morning and the fog creeping through the mountains the second day.
We really enjoyed the property, cooked all our meals on the fire pit, took a walk in the forest, hung out with James and Debbie for a little and got to learn more about them, laid down on the grass listening to the leaves dance, had beers on the deck and just loved the experience and setting.
This place has everything you need for a weekend getaway and the hosts make the experience even better.
Can not recommend enough!
